I bought the Lay z spa rome recently. Think it's fairly reasonable on running cost as its one of the more efficient ones. Not sure exactly how much till the next bill comes in though. Have heard its cheaper to keep at temperature all the time than to keep reheating though.

Does take a bit of effort getting the water chemicals right at first but now I just check each morning and adjust as necessary. Make sure you buy extra testing strips.

As for sex...that was the part I was looking forward to, and have now discovered that the resistance of water makes fucking difficult...great for foreplay, especially in a group but fucking is better elsewhere.

If yr getting the layz spa, get the rigid type not the inflatable.

They don't last as well as the rigid types, not if left out in the sun.

But they were awesome whilst they lasted.

We used to put it on Friday night and turn it off Sunday night. Used to cost about £20 for the wknd electricity wise.

Water levels are worth keeping on top of rather than leave it go for too long.

One tip is avoid self tan cream or anything like that, it'll turn the water murky in no time.

Sex in the hot tub is a little bit special. Have fun

Next Door

I only used mine at the weekend. On a Thursday I would empty half of the water and then top up with very hot water from the boiler. Then get water ph correct on thurs/ Friday before using.

Saved heating the water from cold.

Found it cheaper.

I love ours but its proven too expensive since the electricity prices have gone up. I found sex in the hot tub amazing! Everything seems more intense when in the tub.

Wouldn’t a solar heating panel help with the bills for the water temperatures??

We've had a hard shell hot tub for years now.

Once they are heated, running costs aren't to bad. I can't stress though how much work they take to keep the water balanced. Any type of oils, lotions, or make-up and you will usually have to empty and start again. If you were doing that every weekend the costs would soon pile up.

The last thing you want is unbalanced water as you and your guests will end up with all sorts of rashes and infections.

They are fantastic for relaxing and opening up the channels of communication. Going in naked is great! Helps set the mood and people will feel more at ease after 45 minutes in the hot tub.

Also great for some foreplay but I would say not so great for sex. You won't want to get in the next day with blobs of cum stuck to the side or floating around

Ideally you should shower prior to hot tubs to get rid of creams etc.and mine cleans twice a day .I test the water regularly and add chloride tablets and never had problems

Advice would be spend some money in the immediate term to save in the long term.

Go for a brand like HotSpring or Arctic Spas where the insulation and build quality is the best you can get.

The lower long term costs and better warranties make them the best choice.

If you have a bad back, try out the HotSpring Moto-massage jet - it’s like nothing else.

Probably, we are considering that too. But, they aren't cheap to buy either.
