messages not being read

I know everyone gripes about messages not being replied to but we find messages not being read the most irritating. We often send a couple a message and they do not read it even though they have been online several times.

Reading messages is the first thing we do so we find it puzzling why some couples go on but never read their messages.

Any thought?

Do they never read the message or come on to the site several times before they open it? Some couples might save all the messages to read when they're both present but log on separately throughout the day.

No I don't read very quickly, I log on and come to the forums, without even looking at my account page.

I sit and deal with my inbox when I am in the right mood, otherwise I'd just delete all.

I have a bit of abuse over this and ive only recently realised that my phone stays logged in even if my internet browser isnt open. This could be the case for others

or if it's a short message they can see all they need to in the preview without flagging it as read

People use the site as they please and can respond to messages if and when they choose. I find the idea of knowing that someone has logged on several times quite odd and stalkerish but each to their own.

We log in and out separately through out the day and usually leave the messages to the evening to read through together also we tend to not read and delete one liners mostly from single guys and people being rude as you can read a bit of the MSG before opening it ....

I do this all the time

I have at this moment messages that are unread and have been for 2 days. I've been on and off the forums for short periods over those 2 days.

The reason I do it is because I just can't be arsed to read them. There's no other hidden meaning behind it

When we send messages we forget about it until we get a reply. We certainly wouldn't be checking how many times they've logged on since! Touch of bunny boiling there lol.

yep... i wish they would get rid of the message unread/read/deleted options... so fixated about how others go about their swinging

If people are getting upset or ulcers over the trivial things... I would hate to see how some deal with the big stuff in life........

Ahh I can relate so well to threads like this

Never understand it myself, as soon as that little box goes yellow I read and reply.

Really gets me down when people delete or ignore a polite message.

Even a no thanks isn't a lot to ask for in this day and age

Time is precious for many, they may be chatting to people on line that they are looking to meet shortly and prioritise giving attention and time to them. Unopened is not looked at yet, its someone's choice and if it bothers you then the best bet is to block the people who don't reply or alternatively respect their choice as to how they conduct their profile and deal with messages.

How many messages a day do you get though? Couples and single ladies can easily get dozens a day. I saw a new single female profile the other day and she'd had 97 messages in 3 minutes! There's no way anyone can reply to that.volume of messages without a full time secretary.

I don't get many though so yeah that's why I check them so quickly,

I see your point, it's true that new single ladies do get absolutely tormented on here, but then there are times when you can just tell that the other person is just ignoring you too
