Pierced nipples and mammograms

HEBDEN BRIDGE

I know this isn't sexy but need to find out...will my recently pierced nips be a problem for an upcoming mammogram? Thanks for advice xx

I had to remove mine, were about 8yrs healed and regularly changed jewellery with no issues...but I couldn't get bars back in, partly due to feeling tender and sore, partly my head was having a worry wobble so gave up.

Had to get re pierced x

I've x-rayed a few in a previous life.

Yeah, piercings should technically be removed before the procedure.

There are issues of 'scatter' and the differences between tungsten and molybdenum anodes (used in breast units) and it affecting the image quality.

I believe if you pop back to your piercer he could put some more suitable one in for the x-ray they would only be a temp measure.
