Who is responsible in a partnership?

Here is an ethical question. Within a couple, if they are playing apart and an outsider is involved. Does the outsider have to ask the permission of both in the partnership, or is the word of one that the other knows adequate?

What responsibility lies within the partnership and the person on the outside?

I play on my own with my wife's full permission. She never asks who or what, she only ever asks where I'm going.

All 3 are adults yes?

Then the adults need to discuss it and decide how they want things to go.

If there is a couple then the couple should sort out what their boundaries are before dragging anyone else in
