Latex allergy - what are the symtoms?

Hi all,

Just wondering how people discovered they had an allergy to latex condoms? Or rather what are the symptoms?

dry skin, itching, swelling, soreness generally these but sometimes the symptoms can be much worse but if you have any of these your best switching to non-latex may I suggest if you have these symptoms try an icepack but if you have any other concerns call nhs direct they are very helpful xxxxx

Thanks for the reply!

We both regularly get sexual health screenings, and are always clear but after using condoms we get irritation.

Sounds like that, we'll swap over and see what happens.

I always use Skyn condoms . People with latex allergy also have known sensitivity to bananas, avocado , kiwi which are in same family .

Lip and facial swelling can occur if someone gas been using non latex and you give them bj ...

I always get my condoms from clinic so if at clubs I won't get ill .

I found out years ago after using mates condoms and was swollen and sore down below for about 2 weeks

I always carry piriton antihistamine with me , hydrocortisone cream and bonjela , just in case at clubs
