Long before Fab, when I was young and naive, I travelled to south London (on public transport) to meet someone I was chatting to on another site. Nowadays, I am not prepared to travel, but I am happy to accommodate. However, I would still not arrange a meet with anyone who is over 1h drive. I would travel to a good club, but that would be with my partner or my FWB driving, and we'd normally at least have an overnight in the area.

We tend to not travel more than about an hour. On the flip side we find the most no shows happen when it's people who live over an hour away.

Any distance is ok for me. Usually I make a weekend of it it -especially if it’s somewhere interesting that I’ve not been before. Usually meet the couple on the Friday night and social/play, recover Saturday and spend the day visiting local attractions and go home Sunday. If we’ve clicked, I make it known to the couple I’m staying over for the weekend and have had a repeat offer for Saturday night…….

Once I even got Sunday lunch !!

We don’t mind travelling at all. Better to spend longer travelling for the right couple than settling just because someone might be easier to get to.

We try and make a weekend city break out of it so that it’s always at least a nice little holiday away if the meet isn’t what we planned xxx

My job takes me all over the UK which seems to have advantages.

Hotel stays, people confident I'm not going to turn up on their doorstep a few days later and plenty of people to contact are a few.

Furthest one from me was probably Glasgow and I was living in Surrey at the time.

I used to think about an hour but now think that is too restricted as there are people who want to meet all over, so why go to them? Being retired I can take my time and stay away if I have to.

We only really meet at clubs so we always make a weekend away of it. Torquay is about the furthest. 3.5hr drive.

Not counting a four hour flight to Tenerife (but clubbing there is just a bonus!)

Pre-internet, there were a couple of occasions when I drove from Milton Keynes to Glasgow - 700+ mile round trips, of which one really wasn't worth the time or effort...

....the other, however, turned into a two-night stay with an insatiable young lassie who cooked up a couple of tasty dinners too!

For me personally distance if the connection is good distance isn't a massive issue as I'd just plan a trip around it so either way I'm enjoying myself.

For someone I’ve never met? Maybe the other side of the city.

Likewise, I wouldn’t want anyone I don’t know to travel a long distance to meet me for the first time.

For someone I know and trust? There’s no limit on distance.

I think we'd be happy to travel further for people we knew we had a connection with.

Say we bumped into them at a club and arranged a follow up, I'd be more than happy to travel a fair distance if family logistics allowed it.

For a first meet, probably a little closer just to defend against timewasters. We've had people go silent just as we were about to head to the car before 🙄

"Just wondered how far people are prepared to travel for the right meet. And is there such a thing as too close…"

The right person/people are worth travelling for so distance isn’t the issue, it just takes a little more time to organise, but that give more time to build the tension 🤷‍♂️

We've travelled a couple of hours for a meet several times; I don't think we would put any firm limit on distance, but a couple of hours driving on mostly motorway is a different proposition to two hours driving down mostly twiddly country lanes out in the sticks.

"...a couple of hours driving on mostly motorway is a different proposition to two hours driving down mostly twiddly country lanes out in the sticks. "

There have been a couple of occasions when prospective playmates down here on holiday didn't seem to understand that although where they were staying was only some 20 miles from me on a map, that equated to the best part of an hour's drive on Cornish roads...

We don't really have a limit especially for a meet with a couple that we were compatible with especially if it were a club meeting. Obviously would stay over somewhere.

There isn’t a limit, not for the right people! Before we were a couple we travelled roughly 4-5 hours on good traffic days from the north of England to west wales for meets! Was completely worth it considering we’re now a proper thing.

As for meeting now or going to a club event, same would apply, we’d make the most of escapism and make the most of our time away

Was staying in Newcastle once and got an invite to a meet in Hull. Didn't quite crash just how far Hull is from Newcastle. I ask had to pay for hotel for meet. Headed off and got there some four hours later. Picked friend up outside her house and drove to local Premier inn.

Sex was good but she was a bit random and sparked a cigarette in the room afterwards which was a bit off putting so I made my excuses for a round two and left. Think I was back by midnight and put that one down to experience!!
