If you spoke to someone "briefly" at a club would you verify them?

Not even a social, just briefly?

Also seeing "couples" being verified despite having only met the male half...

Verifications, are the really worth the cyberspace they are written on?

A brief chat, then yes if they'd like a verification to show they'll real. If only chatted to one half, then no.
