‘Lucky guy’

Behind the bike shed!

As a phrase we find ‘lucky guy’ to be particularly annoying.

People’s relationships are normally not just down to luck, the guy will have has many attractive qualities themselves. When people say ‘lucky guy’ what they imply is that the masculine partner brings nothing to the relationship and is completely interchangeable.

Interesting thread!

Totally get your point and agree if looking at it from that point of view. It sounds as if the 'lucky guy' was a random waiting for the bus and she somehow settled for him. Rather than praise it is more like an insult.

We can also say it or read it in other ways. Lucky that you found each other, your soulmate. Or lucky that he ended with a partner that is not just the life partner who brings so much to the relationship but also complements the particular swinging dynamic that the couple has. So there's an element of luck there, which of course goes both ways (i.e. lucky them, not just lucky him).

That's for the thread OP, finally something different and interesting for those of us that are a bit bored of the 'Are you a fan of tits?' threads !!

It is an annoying term and we’re probably all guilty of using it at one time or another.

It’s complete assumption totally based on looks.

No pm's off the back of my reply please!

I (fem) love it when we do get "lucky guy" message. The universe and stars did line up in a weird way for us to find & get together. Not going into the story, but it was a 'omg' story. It's an even more 'omg' story of how we became a thing, and continue our joruney. Outside life tries to make us ride a rolloercoaster every day. Putting obstacles and barriers up at every corner. However, we're 10 years down the line and doing well. This year, we've just got through 2 challanges. Still 2 big challanges to come.

Only just this week, I've said to Mr, I'm so lucky yo have him. ( with my reasons why). He did'nt do the knee jerk responce and say back, "he's lucky to have me". He thanked me.

They say that opersits attract. In the bedroom, we are just as perverted and kinky as each other. We encourage things out of each other. We have the same mind in bedroom matters. Which to me is bizarr. As we're so alike. So in the context of a message saying, " your a lucky man". I think, 'yes he is' and I always think in reply ' yes, I am too'. Lucky that he found me, lucky that I found him, we clicked and it works. Then lucky that other people see it, and comment enough on it to mention it.

I do believe sometimes it’s a case of right time right place but needs way more than luck to make things last

It's meant to be a compliment.

I don't think people say 'lucky woman' quite as often

I don't really like it

Depending on the situation we hear "lucky guy" we often feel like this is code for "I'd like to have sex with her" rather than any slight on my partner.

I feel a bit mixed about it. We were indeed lucky to meet in the way we did. But it's not luck that kept us together. I'd never call myself a lucky guy, but I don't get upset if someone says it to me

I really don't have a problem with this, I feel like a lucky guy and I take it as a compliment of Mrs pineapple without any negative connotation for myself

I have seen . On couples profiles about the lucky guy who they are looking for as one off. They as their profile states normally only couples play. Plus I was messaging a couple . Knew chatting at that time with husband. He basically said it will be up to wife to give final decision if you are lucky guy who gets to play with her.
