Cut & Paste

I've noticed on a few profile "no cut & paste messages"

Am I being really thick or is it actually what I think? Blokes write one message and paste it into a message to someone else?

I personally don't understand the reason why?

Its not usually a one line message. As you say, what would be the point.

Most C&P messages are either a very long 'erotic' story about what they want to do with you. For example, any that start off with 'you are sat at the bar. Your long legs look inviting in black sheer stockings....' are going to be C&P. Or any message with the wrong name or a generic 'you guys' is a dead giveaway.

I had the same gent that sent me the same cut and paste message twice, a good few months apart, as he had forgotten that I turned him down the first time.

There was a post on here ages ago about a guy who sent the same message out constantly. He had sent it to about 10 women on the forums. Very attractive, that sort of personal thought.

I can't blame them....they hardly get replies so why waste their time writing a mail out everytime.

We use cut and paste to send no thanks out.....shoot us

if I proactively messaged looking for meets, I would copy and paste the main body of a message and add to it.

I would do the same, however, it takes less time to type it out than to locate the Notepad file on my lappy as I can't remember where I have filed it.

I will always take the time to personalise a message to a recipient based on what they are looking for.

I've always used cut and paste in job applications, then substantially tailored it for the specific institution. I knew of someone who applied for pupillage (to become a barrister); arrived at the inter_iew and was asked, "why did you address your cover letter to a different set?" She got the pupillage though.

We got an email a few weeks ago from a sexy couple with what seemed to be a short but thought out message. We couldn't make it and said so (nicely); no further reply, and a few days ago we received exactly the same message again.

I'm sure there's a point in there somewhere.

I think I should do a stock reply for all the copy n paste messages we receive from guys who clearly don't read our profile.

I have literally just typed out yet another individual reply to yet another copy n paste request. I could save myself the hassle if I employed the same method as a lot of guys on here.

I don't get my knickers in a knot over it though - it's just a tad tedious.

I frequently copy and paste messages and make no apologies for doing so. I used to make more of an effort but soon realised that it made little or no difference, as the majority of the messages just get deleted anyway. Now I usually send out some kind of generic ice breaker and if I get a reply then I'll be more creative with the next message.

I still read people's profiles and will make minor adjustments as necessary but I tend to avoid the profiles with a long list of do's and don'ts anyway.

I find it amusing when they forget to change the name of who they are addressing, nothing gives them away quicker

I'll usually let them know the must have the wrong profile as that's not my name...and they'll often reply to say fancy a shag anyway!!

Can understand the cut n paste messages but think it does need a bit of personalisation after the paste too, even if it is just the name

Wouldn't this site be perfect if we all just sit down and looking at each other profiles and never send a message???? No matter how hard you try you will never please everybody

You copy and paste, delete

You taylor the message delete.

Thank god some nice ladies are still making it worth the effort

I hate these never read them just delete them.a lot of party ones are like this.can understand why in that context .but other wise think it shows lack of manners and originality .hate those messages just delete delete delete usually some bogus time waster I find as profile often disappears within 24 hours so probably a researcher doing a thesis or some thing as usually attach hot pics too, poppyxx

Get them all the time. I will often mesage them back and say that I am not interested in blanket copy and paste mesages that arent written for me as its one for all.

That tells me they are just looking for a shag and not bothered which of the 20 females they sent it to replies.

If a man wants to meet me and specifically me he will write a message that is purely for me. Otherwise....no thanks

Fair enough, but a first message is just to say hi and to see if there is any interest, do you honesty dismiss someone purely on an initial message??

So, out of the thousands of profiles on here a guy can't find 20 people interesting or attractive?

If you had to send one message at a time and wait several days for either a reply of for it just to be deleted it would take a lifetime to arrange a meet!

Of course people send out multiple messages, it doesn't mean they are desperate or indescriminate.

I agree, the 'fancy a shag message' type are obviously chancers but I think some people are deluded and think they are 'above' a generic message,
