I wonder how many people holiday alone and how they find it. Have you holidayed alone? Would you holiday alone? What's everyone's thoughts?

Yes

I did it once

Big only after I’d been with my friend the six weeks previous to visiting the place the first time

I’ve done it once and really enjoyed it. I find a lot of times abroad you get speaking to others really easily and then it’s not so lonely.

Give it a go and see what you think. Hope it works out for you 😊

Perpignan and cap

I take plenty of mini breaks alone. It's a great way to make new friends. Long weekends at least cap for example. XX

I always go on holiday alone and love it. Having every minute of the day to please myself is heaven.

Have wildcamped and hiked alone. Long weekends staying in YHa campsites or similar, always someone like minded to speak to.

Prefer those types of solo trips to solo hotel breaks etc where there is less of a community spirit.

Long term single so if I want to go somewhere or do something I just get on and do it.

Never understood the irrational need to have someone to go with anywhere.

I have many times and love it. You get to travel where you want to, do what you want and eat what and when you want.

I found that if I wanted company, people were very welcoming but I got as much alone time as I needed.

"Thank you all, I feel a bit more positive going alone nothing ventured nothing gained, after all it's a new experience "

What are you hoping for?

Relaxing in the sun?

Club night?

A holiday fling?

No need to answer but I found it useful to think about why I was doing a particular holiday

Wherever I lay my hat

Regularly. I like being able to do what I like, when I like without compromise. Always people to chat to but travelling solo can mean a lack of meaningful connections. A good compromise is joining a group holiday as a solo person. I did that twice last year and have made some enduring friendships from around the world

Hello

Yes I went to Kenya on my own. It's fantastic. I also go on regular solo dates.

You really get to know people better when you are on your own.

Go for it!

I do everything on my own. Still always takes me a lot of overthinking, panicking, and worrying before I commit to doing things so not often I do anything. Only been abroad 3 times but went on my own each time. At least I can do my own thing when I'm not too anxious to leave the hotel

Was in Berlin on my own last month and loved it. I love history and it was great to be able to do what I wanted for the week. Only thing that would have made it better would have been some action with a local lady

I did a solo holiday to Spain last year for 5 days. I enjoyed it but I think 5 days on my own was more than enough, I do prefer being with someone to share the experiences with.

For a sun holiday I totally agree. Did a week in Lanzarote on my own and was bored after 4 days.

First class alone is better than second class class with company.

But first class company wins

I've not holidayed alone but I've been on some extreme day trips on my tod and fully enjoyed it (first flight, day in another city/country, fly home in the evening). Sometimes I enjoy just having my own company and no one to worry about than just me.

If you Google "solo holidays" or "solo travel" you will see dozens of different companies offering solo group holidays

I have been on about 30 solo holidays of varying types. Cruises, all inclusive, group tours etc. I have enjoyed them all, especially the independence of doing what I want to do when, not accommodating someone else's wishes. I'm off again on Wednesday for 3 weeks.
