We occasionally get messages that start with

I wouldn't mind doing x y or z to you

Sometimes it comes across like they think they're doing us a favour being willing to grace us with their presence or is it just semantics ?

They are playing the odds.

I used to have a friend (no - really!) who would go around the nightclubs ( this was the late 1980’s) asking every girl if she wanted a fuck…… (we were in Cheltenham)

I asked him why and he said ‘ask enough and eventually one will say yes……’

And he was right - he usually took someone home (Quality is a whole other subject).

Eventually he stopped doing it when he woke up in a room one morning with a girl who had a carving knife under her pillow ‘for safety from the others’

But you see the logic for playing the odds……..
