When is a bi-event not a bi-event?…

…when single straight men are permitted to attend.

We’ve had a few bad experiences attending so-called marketed bisexual events with far too many single straight men in attendance, hovering and queuing up chancing their luck. We’ve experienced unwanted touching and had to push past the horde to find play areas and fend off unwanted approaches.

It’s got to a point where we no longer wish to attend these so-called bisexual events and ask:

1. Is this false marketing by the venue?

2. Should venues permit the attendance of single straight men or not?

3. Does the attendance of single straight men to bisexual events spoil or enhance events for genuine bisexuals?

What are your thoughts?

Agreed, bi events can be totally ruined by straight men.

I've never been, but it is odd to me that a single straight guy* would go to a specifically bi night when they have so many other non-bi nights...

(*I can see a straight guy might go as part of a couple with a bi partner...though I guess all club nights are "bi" when it comes to women?)

Have to agree with you on this one, we've been to a few recent bi nights at clubs only to find it's not very bi, there was too many straight men in attendance which just ruined the whole vibe.

I wouldn't call it false advertising because, It would be difficult to stop straight men attending who just pretend to be bi.

"I've never been, but it is odd to me that a single straight guy* would go to a specifically bi night when they have so many other non-bi nights..."

It’s often because it’s cheaper/easier for them to get into bi nights, because straight nights limit numbers of single men and/or charge them extortionately to go

Why do guys even bother going to clubs ...clubs don't really want you there, seems couples don't, single females are unvetted mostly and likely the ones that can't get meets here, you get ripped off on the entry price....

Just meet off here for free, job done..🥪

I saw this getting addressed on Tik tok. 2 guys claiming to be bi at an event so the organiser asked them to kiss each other. They refused and were not allowed entry.

We went to a terrible one in London ….

My husband called them “The Wanking Dead “

Just watching women getting it !!

It was full of straight men pretending to Bi ….

Made us feel quite uncomfortable…..

Surely the organizer should only accept guys who are verified and can back up with reviews that they are genuinely bisexual.

Really difficult to ‘prove’ you’re bisexual and asking two lads to kiss before permitting entry is frankly, nonsense

The unsolicited touching is a no-no whatever the event, so there’s no excuse there whatsoever

I have plenty of friends that attend club nights from a voyeur perspective, with no inention or desire to play. Perhaps there are folks out there that aren’t bi, won’t play with the same sex, but enjoy watching two lads or two girls playing

Ah, I see. I've not been to a club (but night or not) but it's threads like that make me realise why...

I’ve never been to a bi night so I’m completely unaware of the dynamics, but how does one know if someone is straight or bi? Is it generally easy to spot in a club setting?

Could you not mitigate the pretend bi guys by making them play with the guy before introducing the woman into the equation?

I know one club before they put you on the guest list will check your profile. Obviously those people can lie or change it, but at least it’s an effort for the club to ensure only Bi people turn up.

In my experience even at bi events it's not really acceptable for the men to be bi. I find more couples where the man is trying to get tell women...

I get lots of men say they are "straight"etc. But happen to find yourself in a dark corner their dick is right down my throat.

I don't see the point of straight men attending these events, it should be a safe space for bi men/couples to enjoy themselves.

It'd be like me turning up to an all ladies play event, then getting offended if anyone asked me.

I agree it must be hard to police this though.

Shout out to curious club in Nuneaton

They are very strict and can promise everyone going is 100% bi

My friend got turned down because she is bi but her hubby is straight

And said she would have to go alone as bi only

So it’s a true bi event if you wanna check out there page

"why do people pretend to be bisexual?"

Get in the front door with the couple then ignore the Mr and think the couple will just go along.

We are both straight so have never been to a bi event....really easy not to go if you don't fit the criteria and a straight guy going and expecting a good night will probably be disappointed.
