From other posts - Samplace is good for couples, Club Paradise can be overloaded with single guys at times so depends what you are into!!

"Off the Amsterdam and wanting to take in a show"

I'd not bother going to the Red Light district to see a show. We found that as dull as watching paint dry. That said, the "Good Family Entertainment" quip by the doorman prior to going in, did at least give us both a good laugh.

If you've not been before (we used to go every year - it's a great city), it's certainly worth at least taking a sight-seeing wander around the Red Light district.

I wasn't saying there were any (sorry if that was confusing).

We visited one show in the heart of the Red Light district on a previous visit and the live sex was perfunctory (at best) - hence my comment about "watching paint dry".

We always take a wander through the district though, as it's fun to take in all the sights (the girls sit in red lit windows etc). It's very upfront.
