A new one for us.. A wink and a few fabs caught our eye, (purposely not mentioning the demographic) messaged our interest with face pictures.

Had response and less than 4 hour's later another passive aggressive message saying obviously not then and how we were ghosting and wasting their time.. 🤷🤦 seriously we'd not even seen each other by that point.

Do we really live in such an 'instant' age??

You must remember, where some of us have a life outside of this website, others don't.

We've had this a couple of times. One time I'd read the message, but was preparing food for my nephews, came to reply 5 minutes later and had a passive aggressive message about being left on read. Lunacy.

We had a couple who sent face pics with first message, which weren't requested, after literally 5 mins of me and Mrs chatting, they'd sent another message saying "not for you then" and removed the pics.

I usually reply now with a "we'll get back to you when we've had chance to both look"

Crazy

It's good it happens so early on though, instead of wasting time and effort on someone.

Don’t know if people get over invested in this! However aggressive or pleasant behaviour is just unacceptable. Maybe we could have a couples rating scales like an Amazon product rating?

I think people forget A) not everyone lives on here, replying can take time and B) a message presents a choice.

Just because you message someone (even with a conversation) doesn't mean it will turn into anything.

I think too many people test this place like Tesco. If you put something in your online basket (the message of interest ) you expect it to be delivered

The etiquette I like to use on here is if it's been read, but not deleted then it might be of interest to them and get a reply a few days down the line.

Usually if its read and deleted straight away then I tend to block the account so I don't go messaging them again down the line, especially if it includes a face picture.

The yellow, unread ones, always feel like an unclaimed lottery ticket, that maybe if they read it they might be interested. But after a week or so (when they have appeared online in that time) you know they aren't getting read.

A guy messaged us and we exchanged a few messages. He sent face pics and within 5 mins of him sending them, he’d blocked us

Er, hello! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s also amazing how many delete their pics after the message has been opened! We aren’t together most of the time and it’s highly likely I’ll open the message first and so C doesn’t get to see them 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s a couples profile so there’s two people that need to view pics!

People think they are entitled to a response immediately it drives me crazy.

I rarely respond quick even someone I'm chatting to I'll go days between messages I can't stand the daily how's your day, what you up to crap, it bores me.

Fab is a bit of fun and people need to realize we have life's away from here, they never will be a high priority.

Safely say we relate to all of this and having been on fab for quite a few years can say it’s a growing trend in such an instant age

Just curious, but had you seen their face pics before messaging or were the face pics in their reply? Sometimes people are self conscious and feel no reply must mean not interested but you didn't want to hurt their feelings by saying so. If someone has had a lot of rejections they may be automatically pessimistic.

If the face pics were in the reply do you think you would have still been interested having seen them, and if not how would you respond?

Often put messages back to unread to avoid this situation and saving for a later reply

Imagine if you had replied quickly and not encountered an online strop. They could well have been equally as demanding in real life. You probably dodged a bullet.

I see this as a positive thing - you get to figure out they’re actually complete arseholes early on in the process and have avoided a great deal of wasted effort. Dodged a bullet, block and go and find a perfect couple that are out there looking for you

Getting the hump after 4hr, what's wrong with people?

Well we clearly wouldn't have worked for them. Our fabmin is terrible. Alot because our life is hectic and we genrally don't like to invest too much online effort until we've meet face to face.

If we are interested we'll send a couple of messages to judge the vibe. Then we'll say we're not in a position to meet in the near future and that we like to save the talking till we meet in person. So no one is wasting any time on each other, just putting things on the back burner till our calendar frees up. After all no ones got exclusive rights, they're free to pursue others in the mean time.

Get it loads, being a couple ill normally browse a lot while at work as wife sleeps from working nightshift, and we can get a message that I'll see but not open as I want wife to check and as they've seen me online they think that's it and get passive aggressive, well by that point their chance has long gone

We get this really often.

Usually a message saying something really basic and then when we haven't replied within 5 minutes of reading we get a 'obviously not then...' message.

Absolutely unhinged.

Sounds potentially like someone finished their perve/wank and lashed out.

We very rarely get excited over people who are really keen instantly and want to make plans fast - come back in a few hours or tomorrow when we can be more sure you've got a clear mind and we might get somewhere...

Highly instructive post this. A brief summary of it might be really good in the “how to” section.

Thanks for posting, if I don’t get a response I’m blocking all of you! lol
