Does attraction (from both parties) fade after the initial message? How frequently does it happen to you? Just trying to see if we do something wrong

..don't know about Mr but I try to keep messages to the minimum as my attention span is terrible. I can very quickly get bored..

It's doubtful you did something wrong, people are strange, some people don't know a good thing if it hit them in the face, there's timewasters and fakes everywhere unfortunately so It may be the case you got one of them

I can get easily bored with endless small talk so the initial attraction will fade.

There's only so many times I can answer how's your day going? Any plans for the weekend? From the same person before it becomes extremely tedious.

Definitely this. When you're having the same conversation literally hundreds of times it wears thin pretty quickly. The conversation needs to have a bit of a spark to it to keep that interest going for me

That does make sense! Would you only message when you are ready to meet immediately (read next weekend or something)?

Yes it does if it becomes apparent quickly that they have zero personality or energy. Physical attraction means nothing if the conversation is dry.

My mind goes through a few stages.

Firstly, initial interest and attraction, based on what I see in a profile, long before any message is sent.

Then it's either maintained based on any initial response and early chat, or rapidly disappears if the chat falls flat or something is said or inferred that causes a loss of interest.

You will never know how things will pan out, so it's best to have no expectations and just be happy when things go well.

With some people, the conversation flows and even if it takes weeks to fix up a meet, I don’t mind chatting. Others it drags, feels wooden and just doesn’t intrigue me enough to continue.

Equally, sometimes something is said that actively puts me off and I’ll let the conversation fade.

Oh we have had this a fair bit recently! We try our hardest to have conversations and get 1 line replies back and then when we can't think of anything to reply as they've given nothing, they messaged again like were not interested. Having some form of chat is essential for us!

I'm away atm but got a social for when I'm home. So conversation will pick up when I'm back. If interest is still there, then great if not then no biggie.

But asking the same questions daily is too much sometimes .

On the other hand there have been others where it's non stop messaging

If we message/get messages we'll have the usual initial chat to make sure we are all on the same page, then I'll arrange a social fairly quicky, I may not chat in the lead up much because I need that in person interaction to know if I want to go further.

I have people I chat to once a month and that's great, once a week that's also great, much more with no plan to meet and I'm - meh....

This happened to me twice yesterday where they messaged me, we started corresponding but then suddenly blocked or ignored with no explanation or sign,

Not really if it's there in the first place !. We swap face pics early to ensure interest all round. Our problem is the sea of timewasters
