Does anybody else think that messages like"no timewasters please" etc act like a red rag to a bull to timwasters?:-after all timewasters seem to get their jollies from winding up others so if you make it plain it is going to wind you up aren't you leaving yourself wide open??

There is a regular couple in southampton who do that , been here for over a year , and no veris,

Messages them a few times, they made a arrangement and cancelled at last minute

I suspect that it is counter productive, it's certainly a phrase that puts us off profiles and I doubt we are alone. If someone is of the opinion that stating no timewaster (or fakes for that matter) on a profile actually works then I don't think we'd get on with them.

Lots of guys who message us obviously cannot read

But hey ho we will simply block

When you approach a woman in a bar it is with respect and your own persona and face

Why reply to some nerd who cannot read and is obviously married cannot accom only do daytime meets duuuuuuh

It's just as bad as the word 'genuine' in a profile. Clearly it has different mean to different people. Genuine timewaster.

it maybe just my thinking but there's 2 ways of looking at this. The general consensus from what i've read of this thread is that there's no point in writing it as a) it won't stop time wasters/fakes/pic collectors* (*delete as appropriate) from messaging you and b) it's off-putting to read that in someones profile.

However, there is (or at least in my mind there is) a flip side to writing that on your profile. By writing such a phrase it sort of shows or suggests that you have been through such malarky with time wasters/fakes/pic collectors in the past and do not wish to go through it again. So whomever messages you should, ideally, pay attention to what they are typing and if they are genuine about meeting they will make sure they don't fall in to the category of time waster as clearly that is something that pisses you (& i suspect everyone else on here) off.

As for your original question, it may be a red flag in front of a bull, but then whoever writes such a message on their profile will be a little more cautious of such people and hopefully will be able to spot a time waster in thier message

"Silly and a waste of time...

As has been pointed out...

Do you really believe that "timewasters" will take any notice of it?

I totally agree time wasters will not take any notice of it but i do think there is a postive that can be taken from writing such a message within your profile or at least that's what i was trying to say

I got what you were saying, but still think its a waste of time writing it in profile.....IF someone wants to mess you about, they will do it...regardless of what your profile states....
