"Good luck to you, but you'll meet people just as nice and decent in any other club ![]() You'd like to think so. But a club we won't name we couldn't be paid enough to go back to. Think a darker version of the bar scene in the original Star wars. Capped off by a fella in dirty work jeans, covered in oil, shirtless and in miss matched flip flops ![]()

"Would love to know this as well. Often when I have been to clubs previously, it has been the sort of place you would walk out of in embarressment on a normal night out, an older crowd or just not what I would consider an attractive clientele. Some of these places just have a very clicky regular group and you stick out like a sore thumb. I have heard Le Boudoir is good but haven't been there yet. " But it’s not a normal night out, that’s the whole point. There’s only so much you can expect from a swingers club.

Le Boudoir is good from people’s comments on forums. AbFabs at Heathrow is good. Decor and people’s behaviour are two separate issues. I agree with preferring a non-industrial location. Costly tickets is not a guarantee for good manners/people. Strict Management attitude has an impact on people’s behaviour too. I’m a single straight gent, so I used to think couples did not like us singles. But many couples prefer single gents as they find couple’s very cliquey. Whichever club I have been to, most people are sociable and a few unfriendly ones. Chamaleon, Xtasia, Liberty are popular ones on forums. I haven’t been to them.

"I'm happy for descreet but minging decor, sticky carpets, darkness and uncleanliness does not attract me. I don't see why they can't splash a bit of paint etc. I'd pay more to visit a nice place. No diff to a restaurant really. " My wife and I prefer private meets, drinks at a neutral bar/pub then back to our luxury home x Happy to discuss why x message us

"They're swinging clubs, they're not meant to be all out there and full of razmatazz. Most are in buildings you wouldn't even know are there for a reason, to keep them descreet." Actually I’ve been to “private clubs” in LA, London and Tokyo and they’re full on luxurious. Imagine the most plush bar you’ve ever seen, with additional dark rooms or hotel rooms attached. It’s a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. It businesses here made the effort in certain they would see an increase in the number of clientele and a totally different crowd starting to take interest.

"Another vote for Penthouse Playeooms, certainly spent some time making it more bar/club feel. Xtasia also has a more club/bar feel round the dancefloor/bar area. In the view of the club owners I would say though that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Make it too much like a posh bar/club then some customers would start to feel uncomfortable and the vibe would change. The clubs we have visited are more about creating an atmosphere of fun and freedom than trying to be something they are not." What if it’s broke and they don’t realise?

"What if it’s broke and they don’t realise?" The attendance numbers will tell them. Problem with the clubs at the more “chic” end is they also charge “chic” prices. The clubs we have been to like that are always less busy, again that may be what it’s clientele are looking for but we prefer a full club with lots of people.

"I own several bars a cross the UK. I'd be happy to open and create something which is done sophisticated and upmarket. Im new to this scene. Do people spend on drinks etc when there. If anybody wants to be an advisor that's interested. I'd ideally look to open in south Warwickshire countryside are as I've a place there I can redevelop. " In my opinion you don’t really want people drinking too much in a club like this - consent becomes an issue if people have too much. I think you will actually struggle to make much money from the drink/food side.

"You won't get a licence anymore. I've run events for years (rave/ club events mainly) and the law basically stops any new clubs from opening (even if it doesnt necessarily say out right). Even cubs that are currently operating would be closed if they didnt renew their licence. The council's hate us that much. I consulted on a new club a few years ago. They literally did everything they could. Got all the contracts, location (strict location rules apply to sex clubs) and he still got turned down last min. This guy had MONEY to throw at it. It was basically up and ready to go and he had to close it." There is a new club opening in Sheffield later this month. GGs Lounge in Runcorn opened at the start of this year.

No diff to a restaurant really. " It's worth bearing in mind that the pandemic was a catastrophic time for clubs. They aren't awash with tons of money, after that, to invest, as it cost the scene so dearly and clubs aren't gold mines, anyway. That said, many used the months of closure to revamp things. The Attic in Derby is probably the most recently reopened club, having moved to a new venue. Your description OP almost sounds like an exclusive Mayfair, upmarket venue for socialites, with decor close to the expense that Boris Johnson lavished in 10 Downing Street. That image doesn't really reflect the majority of the swinging scene. You may find private parties held in some more exclusive venues but their clientele may be similarly exclusive of you..it would be interesting to hear what you'd expect to spend, for such a club's access?

That's interesting because there's been a few new clubs open since the pandemic and a fair few existing ones have changed owners - I'm guessing the new operators would have needed to renew the lease/licence with the relevant authorities?

"Manchester, Liverpool and Central London don't. And I'm on a group with lots of owners where this is a regular concern. There are alot that operate without a licence under the one per month guise (Basically some establishments can host one sex party per month even if not a sex club) yet obviously operate way more." By Central London, any councils in particular? It's not a centrally governed or defined region, rather licensing is regulated by the borough the establishment happens to be in. As for operating unlicensed, I'm sure this would be easy to catch out given social media postings and neighbour complaints etc??

Catchment area is important. Le Boudoir benefits from being in London’s financial area. AbFabs from being next to Heathrow Airport. Check out Eureka in Kent as a countryside theme and then make it posh. Also add Service with a Smile. A few places I have been, some staff see clients as a disturbance to their staff chat, rather than realising that its clients that help pay staff wages. If Carlberg did Swinger Clubs …

"Regarding sexy clientele the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most clubs have an all inclusive and welcoming attitude. No one should be there to judge. How would you feel turning up and the doorman says “nah not for this club mate” you’d be totally embarrassed. Which is totally the opposite of what a lifestyle club is aiming for. We have been to one club where there were a lot of OF types in making content for their page. The girls were mainly young slim and attractive and the boys were equally so with six packs etc. but the atmosphere was strange all night. We went to the dungeon and had our normal fun, was regularly interrupted by noisy couples taking a few pics on a piece of equipment and then sauntering off to the next room: In our experience clubs with a non selective attitude are the best to visit." Swinging should be about inclusiveness so totally agree.

No diff to a restaurant really. " We go to lots of clubs and have yet to see one like this. Have you actually been to one or is this just photos on the internet? We spend everything from £30 to £150 a couples ticket and what you spend is not the indicator of behaviour or quality. Many have said this already; Le Boudoir, Liberty Elite, Penthouse Playrooms, House of Poitier, Touch Sauna (Bristol on a swing night) are all excellent, clean and well decorated. Chams is a bit of a sex pub in our opinion (not a bad thing just a different vibe), but very well run and clean.
