What do you use as your safe word(s)?

Mine is Meatloaf.

Cos I’d do anything… but I won’t do that.

"Stop"

That to me defeats the whole point of having a safe word. A safe word is a specific word you *discuss beforehand* to avoid any confusion and I suspect if you are using the word stop you aren’t discussing it.

Ps - mine is banana

If it’s not been explicitly agreed beforehand it’s not a safe word

I just got a private message stating:

“if you need a safe word, then you lack trust and respect with your partner”

What??!! That’s not true at all.

Myself and my fwb have Meatloaf there so if or when we are trying something new, and one of us isn’t into it, it’ll get stopped immediately.

Thoughts?!

Sounds sensible to me. I wouldn’t have gone for meatloaf though. I quite like meatloaf. Maybe Coldplay?

"“if you need a safe word, then you lack trust and respect with your partner”"

Agreeing a safe word is essentially having a discussion about consent, boundaries and communication. To interpret that as a sign of “lacking trust and respect” is a completely wild take.

I think it demonstrates that the person has only ever had very vanilla sex. There are certain activities in the bedroom that you really cannot do without a safe word.

When my girl wants me to switch it up she says ‘launch operation rolling thunder’ and when she want me to play it safe she shouts ‘Gareth Southgate’

Maybe I’m just a bit too kinky (and into trying all kinds of weird stuff) for some people to understand the necessity for a safe word?!

Try that at a bdsm night, and you'll be in a world of pain especially if someone is S&M lol

But then a Dom nor mistress would touch you without having one in place.

Absolutely this!

We use traffic light. It’s simply the easiest to shout/scream/mumble through a gag

Green …. Go go go

Amber …. Getting a bit much ease off

Red ….. stop immediately

And red isn’t as bad as it sounds, we find amber comes up a bit in impact or wax play, red has never been said, but could easily happen in shibari sessions if I’ve tied too tight.

Agree the scene, agree the limits, and keep checking in.

Traffic light system is the one I use, gives the person an indication when getting close to red

Well then stick with banana.

To avoid any confusion stop works.

Dont make assumptions about what works in a dynamic; responsibe play = safe words that are agreed. Fruit-based or otherwise.
