We are off to spend the day with a lovely couple today and I managed to cover my hands and knees in a strong flooring adhesive yesterday - now frantically trying to make myself presentable

Anyone else had something like this just before a meet?..

Yeah, I was tidying the house in preparation to entertain a single lady and smoothing out the leather sofa, pushed to hard and dislocated my middle finger

"Smoothing out the leather" does sound like a euphemism

We had planned to meet a couple at a club one night. On the run up to it, was doing work in the garden and I cut my hand open.

It wasn't the worst injury in the world - but where it was would have made it difficult to do anything involving fingers/hands. I am very safe and would rather not play with an open cut - for everyone's safety and reassurance - so we had to cancel.

Unfortunately it then fizzled out!

I’ve shared this before but it’s always worth doing again

4pm - find the 3 and half year old has emptied a pot of glitter from a play art set all over the living room

4:30 - grandma picks up said creative artist for a sleep over

2 hours of furious hoovering

Then we have to get ready

The gentleman we had arranged to meet arrived and we had a “ Fab” evening

About 11:30 ish he is finding clothes and we notice his bum and back of his legs are sparkling yellow , red and Green

We looked at each other with a mix of horror and intense amusement

We said nothing, and he pixie dusted his way home

Presumably he would be shedding glitter with no idea why , for days
