As a newbie single man, what is the feeling of using your real name or not?

I'm a professional person in a high profile job and need to be discreet but still want a damn good life in this community.

I have swung before but as a couple and never used names previously but now I want and need to appear genuine as I have already experienced how false people can be...especially the male variety...lol

It's entirely up to you but if you need to be discreet for whatever reason I wouldn't recommend it.

We were contacted by a guy I work with and knew immediately because he had a full face picture in his profile and had used his real name, so for us it was very useful as we would rather not meet people we see on a day to day basis.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

If someone posted their real name I would just automatically assume it was a false name anyway, so really doesnt bother me.

One guy contacted us the other day using three different names, ie his username was 'Robert123', the name he'd given on his profile was Brian and the name he'd signed off on his message with was Thomas (just examples)

Lol well it took me back a bit I can tell you. I always smile inwardly when I see him and think "good on ya".

I think it all depends on how unusual your name is!

There is nothing worse than chatting to someone who introduces themselves as Dave and then you meet and they say, oh btw my name is really Mike, and yes I have had this (I've changed the names to protect their identity)

But it did piss me off

Same here,

It's easier to use your name or nickname

Yeah, I can see all the points here.

I've just left it as an initial and decide when I talk to someone. Just never want to be false...I'm no secret agent! lol

My name is very unusual so I wouldn't use it. If my name was a Jane it wouldn't matter.

My name isn't overly unusual, but my spelling is! So I normally just sign off with my initial

I use my real name, doesn't bother me at all people knowing it and I would more than likely forget whatever pseudonym I used!

To clear up any confusion. Mine has NOTHING to do with Dr Who. I have a stage name (when I play with one of my bands) and my username is based on that...
