They're all very well, the moody black and white shadowy pics, usually with the persons head thrown back or the ghost hand from the opposite sex reaching for them, but do the people who have these photos wonder what their future meets will think when they eventually see them in the flesh and obviously they're going to look a bit different?

Think it's nice to have a bit of variety with photos, would much rather a well thought out black and white arty photo than close ups of private parts. I agree though, you do need normal body shots too just to have a sense of proportion

Variety is the spice!!

I love a good 'arty' pic - but it's also key to make sure you give an accurate representation of yourself - otherwise you can't really blame people when they change their mind!!

If you've edited the crap out of them - or it's just a random body part then I guess I see what you mean.

If you've just taken a ordinary shot and changed it to black and white - there's not much difference apart from maybe the odd shadow.

We like them , it shows a bit of creativity and some are really good.

Better than the usual cock shot or fanny dripping cum .

I love the arty pics, much more attractive the the sky remote cock pics. I'd much rather gave those attached to a message and before a meet I ask for a clear face & body shot, never had a problem with someone not looking like the pic suggested, only ever had that on the poor quality colour pics. I'd love to have some arty pics taken of me, as I personally HATE my pictures x

That's more what I meant, didn't make myself very clear, although people saying they send clear body shots with messages surely defeats the object? Face pics I can understand completely, but having to send a body pic I just don't get

Me too, I like to see a mixture of both arty and nice well posed "ordinary" photos. I'm not keen at all on body parts that could belong to anyone whether they're black and white, in shadow or hanging from a helicopter.

Guess its called choice, alot of people have hubbies or friends that are good hobby photographers so why not, to me it beats the hell out of a badly composed badly taken shot from a phone. or a one in the mirror with a bog seat in the background whats that all about??

Rather see a well presented pic thats had a little thought put into it than just your normal mundane pic

and like said as long as it is the person in the pic then why not, nothing to hide just shows people in a different light

That all depends on if you are trying to mislead people into believing you are something you are not.

Seems like the woman he met was misleading him into believing the pics where true representation of her, should he have asked to see a normal pic???

People keep saying on this site you need to have a well written profile with nice pics to go with it to stand out from the crowd, but surely once you get chatting to the people they would have nice pictures of themselves to send through, alot of arty pics are taken in a way that the face is hidden, no different to having a pic with the face blanked out, so would you meet a person without seeing what they look like???

I think tasteful photos give an indication of personality - and to be blunt some of the more explicit photos turn my stomach, so I'd rather see more of the 'arty shots'.

Photos/profiles/messages are all just hints of what people really are anyway.

No you are right they are not......YET.

Getting to learn studio equipment to get the look you want is hard, am just learning at the moment so none that I would put on a profile for all the world to see.

To do arty properly you need to have a little bit of nonce for the way lighting works and how to get a desired effect from your camera and set up.

Oddly I find it easy enough to take pictures of others, but of yourself it is harder.

A profile of all arty shots, screams fake profile at me, but a profile with a couple of very nice shots and some more 'relaxed' ones that are obviously the same person/people gets my attention.

Also some couples on here are into their photography in a big way sometimes, so the few we see on the profile may be the result of 100's they have taken.

I am taking a wild stab in the dark here... but I am guessing if someone said 'what is the point of the photo of your shoes, how can anyone tell what you look like from that?'... you might just reply "but we have other photos"

My answer would be the same. The difference is, I like to choose who sees them.

I'm dumbfounded is this now the final thing ? I mean every other thing people choose to do or say or have on their profile offends people and now those that make an effort with their pictures too.

Personally we love to see "arty" photo's a bit of effort never goes amiss and helps you stand out a bit.

I guess its like all things, dressing nicely, making yourself smell nicely, getting rid of excess hair its all about the effort you put into it and what you hope to get out of it in the end.

If you're happy with a few full length body shots and thats all you're after more power to you but try not to infer that those that choose to take arty pictures are hiding themselves just makes you seem quite catty.

I think the only person here taking it personally is you from your last post. I don't really class the majority of our pics as arty, if we had a better camera and more time they certainly would be, they are at best a function tool for us.

But the general response to any question on here about profiles and what people do with them is "because they choose too" the sooner you accept that the happier time you will have the place because these threads that put a peg in the sand and decide that doing X is wrong in your opinion (whoever it might be) rarely ever go anywhere bar a locked thread.

Perhaps in the future when you post a thread it could be more like a reasoned question and less like an attack if you wish to get a better response ?

I take it personally when someone calls me catty, why wouldn't I? And I'm more than happy, why would you assume I'm not? Again I can comment on whichever part of people's profiles I like, this is no reflection on my happiness? Does commented on a thread like this mean you are unhappy? Of course not! But if that's your argument you stick to it and if people like your pics you've nothing to worry about

That's a pretty big assumption considering you're looking at a pic of a person you've never met!

Arty pics don't have to be decieving or have effects on them...so how do you know if they're trying to look like someone else or if that's who they ARE?

Answer...chat, message, meet!
