Hi all

Would you be willing to do STI tests, share the results and then fuck bare?

I’d love to say I’m asking for a friend but… I’m asking for me!

I’m interested in people’s opinions and where people draw their own boundaries.

Dee

Agreed. That’d have to be part of the conversation.

No.

Because each party could still be meeting in between.

They may not have waited over 2 weeks to test and therefore irrelevant….

Not unless in a “real” relationship.

But i am known to be very over the top with STI safety ha

Really depends on the situation and people, but generally we only play with protection and insist on seeing recent full panel STI test results as a minimum.

To play bare we would want to verify those we are playing with are trustworthy and have a detailed knowledge of STIs and the risk awareness, amongst other things.

I think that’s fair enough and you’re right. I wish STIs weren’t a thing!

I think I this is I poetant. The relationship and reliability of the test.

You don't sound over the top you sound cautious and there nothing wrong with that.

I have previously. Depends on who, the circumstances around it, and all that jazz. If it's someone I know fairly well then I've no issue with it. If it's someone new unless I've built up a decent trust with them then it's probably less likely...

However! All of that said. I have tested regularly, and consistently over the past decade since venturing on to Fab. Prior to that I had tested before, but it was way less often. And I'm my 20s/early 30s I'll be honest and say I gave it minimal thought. Often safe sex, sometimes not!

I can understand that. No one has ever asked to see my STI results despite the fact my profile says I’m happy to share them. It’s nice to hear about people testing and sharing their results.

STD tests aren't 100% accurate. False-negatives can occur, especially if you don't wait long enough after your most recent sexual encounter before testing. Pregnancy is also an issue.

Screenshots/photocopies of STD test results can also very easily be faked, so you'd need a reliable way of knowing that the results you've seen are genuine.

For first meets, I think it's an unwise decision. But once you've met someone a few times socially or otherwise you would have had enough time to gauge their trustworthiness. Then you can trust that their test results are genuine.

We think sharing results should be a required thing before any play, even with protection, but we're quite strict with how we do it.

We are all about safe sex ourselves and test regularly, however 5 months ago we met our unicorn and since then all come to an agreement we would test and then only play unprotected between ourselves. None of us play with others, and if we do would be all together and safe

So yes guess in the right situation with the right person, with proper boundaries set we would play un protected

Personally I feel the real risk is more that when people do test (which of course they should!). That it's not an accurate reflection really. Someone could test every 6,4,2wks. But until it hits 12wks it's not necessarily going to pick up say Syphilis which tests should be done at 12wks. Then there's the limitations of tests themselves, as only the core 4 are tested for generally, unless you ask at a GUM clinic for more. Then there's the issue of things they cannot test for, herpes is a good example of this.

Add into that that tests can (although rarely) give false pos/neg results. Or folk balls up on their home tests (normally inconclusive then tho). And some tests you can buy off the Internet such as the non lab ones, aren't recommended...

It's a minefield!

But then condoms can break, don't cover all skin surfaces, some sti's are transmitted via skin contact alone...

If you live in a constant state of fear you'd just never have sex again

Very much agreed with all these points, a lot of people also don't understand that STIs can be transmitted even when protection is used (condoms, dental dams etc). Also a fair amount of people don't seem to understand incubation periods either.

Plus things can still slip through even with those who follow all possible precautions and test regularly.

Ironically my last GUM clinic trip was due to someone I knew well, we'd both exchanged test results. All that great stuff, and then said they were showing symptoms a week later after we had sex

So, as I'm up in the stirrups with the nurse having a good rummage, waffling on about my last smear being HPV neg within the past 6mths, the tests I had took, how often I test blah blah. She's all 'Oh, you sound really clued up, are you are nurse?'... I'm all I'm clearly not that bloody clued up as I'm here

Being totally honest I have played unprotected but only when me and the play mate have been tested and not played since the test. But also their partner - almost exclusively play with couples. Also that they are not playing unprotected with anyone else. But I have been lucky to be playing long term as the couples only play mate and them mine. That isn’t compatible with others quantity over quality aim.

For years now I have been tested every 4 months and played safe in between.

No issues so far

Yes but following a few criteria

1. We've met before and comfortable be honest.

2. Not playing with others

3. 2-4 week pause between other partners and testing

4. Regular testing prior to this

I have been been lucky to meet two couples I've had this relationship with.

I did the STI test for myself recently, I like to check myself and be clean and tested, I use a condom in my meetings and only with tested people I will have sex without a condom.
