Hey there.....captain and myself are looking to get into some kinkier fantasies and one in particular is wax play. Can anyone point us in the right direction of the best candles to use for this

First and cheapest option are tea candles. Then if u don't enjoy it then only lost £1 or £2

Don’t do this, Domestic candles have harder wax that can cause actual burns when dripped on skin.

Buy some candles from Lovehoney or other BDSM stores - the wax is softer and drips at a lower temperature

Do not use Beeswax candles they have a high melting point and could be very dangerous.

Soy Candles have a low melting point.

But sex candles are easy available on lovehoney and you get a fab discount.

Trussed UK sales some good wax play candles too. Although, if you buy any just try a little bit out first on an area of skin and see what the temperature is like.

Although, just be mindful of cleaning up after as wax play can be a bit messy, so personally I normally lay a towel or some cling film down before starting

Have fun exploring

Search bondage candles. Or even sexier are massage candles, they drip into a nice smelling message oil. Both types available at Lovehoney and Eb@y.

Don’t just pick up any scented candle you have lying around. That nice-smelling one you got as a gift years ago?

It’s not what you want dripping all over your skin. Those candles burn at high heat and could cause burns. You need specific candles for wax play, which burn at a lower heat and are made for close contact with your body.

Body massage candles are great for beginners.

Yes I have made the mistake of doing the first part of this message when I was stupid about exploring. Body massage and soy candles are the way to go.

Ann summers have them

I saw some in Bnm but never picked them up so take that with a pinch of salt.

For people who can get to Birmingham there is a kink event called the BBB on third Sunday of month.

Big kink market by day then play and workshops and demos in evening.

Often a few sellers of candles there. I sometime help crew the wax play area and we give tuition

Check out Skulkycandles as a supplier

We have been into wax play for some time now... not every week, but now and again it is a real turn on (see pics)...

we have a multitude of candles and as others have said, they all have different burn rates / melting points - even same brand but different colours can melt differently... Higher you drop the wax from, then less pain/cooler when it hits the skin..

We have just found a brilliant site in the States and had delivered a few candles - they arrive in small glass shaped pouring jugs and to add a little more spice, they glow under a black light - still to try the black light at one of our parties...
