Bit of a turn off on profiles that are littered with awful spelling, poor grammar, or all messages are sent in "text speak" no matter how nice the photos might be. Not looking for a novel but at least constructed in readable English. Does anyone else agree?

Strongly agree. I’m not the most intelligent person in the world but i ensure I send well written messages, and I appreciate when someone makes the effort to at least proof read their messages before sending.

English isn't the first language for many on here so we make allowances for that. There are dyslexic people on here also.

100% agree. Especially when I see "u" instead of "you". Sooo lazy!

We have swerved some good looking profiles simply based on the poor grammar, as I fear in real life we’d have nothing in common.

Particular aversion to “yous” and zero punctuation.

I am registered as dyslexic but I still try to make sure I use the correct spelling.

It's not difficult as most mobile phones have a speech to text function on them.

I detest text speak I normally just delete or ask them to write the message again in English, then delete it.

I very much agree, OP. It shows the writer has taken some care over what they are writing and that counts for a lot with me.

Lack of punctuation really irks me. I run out of breath reading some people's messages!

Text speak is a big turn off but spelling mistakes are fine as I'm dyslexic anyway

It makes me cringe even writing in jest!

I'm definitely put off by poor spelling and grammar, particularly text speak.

Lack of punctuation is probably worse. Those walls of text ... I cannot be bothered to even attempt to make sense of it.

In messages and on forums I don't mind... I make plenty of mistakes myself.

Total agree.

Text speak is definitely the worst, it's like they can't be arsed.

I am nervous about even putting a comment on this subject

This is a swingers meet site after all - but I know I like to chat and enjoy the company of the people I meet on here as well as the sex.

If they can write a few properly constructed sentences then that offers hope

After all - corrective spell check helps
