i served in Germany for 14 years but in the 70s and 80s. Sex cinemas and swingers clubs were well established even back then long before here in uk. The sex cinemas varied from single room screens with rows of seats at the rear of sex shops , to multi screen set ups where you could walk between each screen which had different genres of porn showing. All types were full on into open sex between anyone in there including same sex. I can only see this improving over the years as they are more open and tolerant toward sex.
