Stocking straps

Just wondered if anyone could give me the heads up on how to stop your stockings in clipping, especially when out … I’m just off down the pub and I keep getting one or two pinging off. It’s so annoying just wondered if there was any tips anyone could share with me it’s really awkward to do it while I’m in the pub.

If the clips are pastic or just rubbish they're gonna keep pinging off.

I wear hold ups because I like the broader lace top compared to stockings.

I also wear them with suspenders, because I like the aesthetic more that way

. Yes, I have to be a contortionist to try and get them to fit

Always use metal clips.

Make sure you're only clipping onto a single layer of the welt near the top of the stocking, make sure it's flat and there's no bunching up.

If the rubber is hard to push down and the back feels concave then you have too much fabric in the clip.

I usually wear hold ups now. But like wearing a basque with straps.

The one on the back of my right leg is always a pain to clip. I always factor that in to time getting ready.

Sturdy metal suspenders is the answer here. I always only wear 6 metal straps, plastic straps are useless, and only so very occasionally- usually when I didn’t attach it right in the first place, have I had a ‘strap malfunction’.
