"I always comment if people smell good, male or female. Same as if someone is wear a cool pair of glasses I will ask where they are from. It’s a good thing to make positive comments to someone, they maybe having a shit day, you saying something positive may turn their day round . " Absolutely this...why not give someone a genuine compliment, it's a kind thing to do.

"Society is becoming a horrible place if you can’t pay someone an innocent compliment nowadays without it getting sexualised or taken as your a creep " I think it's less horrible when people realise their right to comment on how someone looks or smells isn't always welcome or appropriate

"Granted, but since when has it been a bad thing to compliment people, if we’re working out and someone passing by compliment by saying something like “looking good bud keep up the good work” it would probs make my day. Nothing in my head would automatically think ohh there being a creep and after me.. " Can you see how, at the very least, it might make someone uncomfortable and put them in a position where they feel they'd need to reply when they'd really rather be left alone to go about their business?

It tends to make you wary especially if you're somewhere where you want to just get on with whatever you're doing e.g. work, gym, reading a book on public transport.
