I know people can choose to hide their profiles,maybe having a break or just split up from someone but why are so many profiles hidden these days. So no good if profile hidden to check their likes dislikes area where they live yet they still message and natter but i wonder why they permanently hiding profile strange

i delete all messeges i get from hidden profiles.

If they are on here messeging and chatting yet hiding there profile..then in my opinion they hiding something else too.

Enough fakes on here as it is...Can understand why people get annoyed on here, but is same on any site.

Just takes lot of time to meet someone genuine and i been on here long enough now spot when someone is false or wont really meet me..even if verified peeps can be all talk

My profile is currently hidden. Purely because I've recently had a bad experience with a guy and need a break from meeting new people. Does that mean I should delete my account to please the more suspicious people on the site?

Or should I be allowed to just log on when I please to chat to friends and read the forums without having to deal with messages off people who I don't want to meet!

One day people might just be able to use the site facilities as they wish without having to run the gauntlet of suspicion!

We sometimes hide our profile when we get unwelcome attention of people looking at it that might know us personally .we try to be as discrete as possible but the other day someone messaged me and told me they knew who I was but wouldn't say why or how.i have resisted the temptation to hide this time but am going to block them as find messages like that intimidating and unnecessary.poppyxx

I see a couple on here who have hidden their profile. I strongly suspect they are the timewasters I had a few weeks ago. It will be easy to check once they reappear.

I'm not married, or attached or a dodgy b'stard! But I don't message other people or fab pictures whilst my profiles hidden either. I just want a break from meeting at the mo and don't see the point in looking like I'm open for meets when I'm not. It saves people wasting their time messaging me!

I hide mine when I'm not playing simple as that doesn't mean anything just means I'm having a break

most fabsters have very genuine reasons to hide from time to time.We only puzzled when strangers wink,msg but have their profile hidden.That's just Daft

Luckily we never had a reason yet to hide ours

Totally understand this!

I think it just confuses folk and makes them suspicious when random strangers message, send friends requests or wink when hidden.

But your reasons are 100% valid!

At the moment our profile is hidden. Me and silk are both in the thick of exam and essay times for uni and law school and I use the site as a form of procrastination rather then study. As we can't meet atm due to this we have decided to hide our profile so as not to waste other people's time. Our friends on here know the score and we keep in touch with them. No sinister reasons or problems here just a need to pass exams and not waste other people's time.

We do too but believe us we are very genuine just comes down to personal circumstances..ours are all above board but due to ill health in past we had to..but also understand that there probably are people here that aren't above board unfortunately im afraid your going to findthose type of people..but like us and the majority i suspect its suits when its needed...xx

That's why mine is hidden. The only people I message are those on friends list or people I know from forums. I have fabbed a couple of pics though just because I liked them nothing more.

When I am not actively looking to meet, I make myself non-searchable by not indicating the type of peeps I am looking for.

This way, I only get the odd messages.

I have put a lot of efforts into writing my profile, and I am not going to hide it!

If you don't want to chat with hidden profiles there's a simple solution to that problem...don't chat with them!
