giving advice ??..good or bad

so giving advice like to to do a profile or how to message or how to present the personal stuff that shows what people are like do you think its bad or good ??

why give advice that a person can use to come across totally different than they really are ??

the best filter every one has is to see the person for real as they are and how they think once you give them advice to get around that then one thats your filter gone and 2 you meet someone whom has hid behind no being their true selves well thats my view anyway people should leave people to figure it out for themselves after all their profile is about them and what the want/seek so only them know them and as for helping with what photos and what to say in a message well why why would you help them to say or do something they would not of done in the first place ... some advice is dangerous ..

ps this is not about all advice just profile and personal stuff ...

what do you think ??

Somewhere

I think especially for photos if someone is asking for advice no harm in giving it? They might not be used to taking selfies, might be looking for inspiration is all.

I don't think there's any harm in giving advice on profiles. Some people don't find it easy to express themselves in writing and a bit of help does no harm. I think if someone is showing themselves in a bad light the best advice to give us that they don't need to change a thing.

its from my point of view more about telling people what photos are good or not ie some photos put some people off therefore that is a filter someone telling them to remove is talking that filter away ...

advice on how to take a photo is not what im on about there are lots of post asking for advice to in effect make someone look sound better / get around filters that others look for

I don't agree with giving advice and have always commented on threads started by people giving a long list of suggestions to disagree.

However, advice is only ever given to single male profiles despite the fact many single women and couples have equally lazy profiles.

The old excuse that women and couples don't need advice because they will get lots of messages anyway doesn't really cut it.

They can't really complain about the quality of messages received or lack of respect if they have a poor quality profile and are disrespectful to anyone they choose to contact.

Any advice given on here should not be aimed solely at men.

It should apply equally to everyone but it never will.

I'm not talking about this thread. This isn't an advice thread.

I'm talking about every single advice thread on these forums is about offering advice to men and never to anyone else.

I agree with what you say about not offering it because you give people a way of hiding red flags and help them create a persona that they can't sustain.

My point was that people giving advice are creating problems rather than solving them but many people giving advice want others to change their approach to fab but don't want to be told what they themselves are doing wrong.
