the list of issues are long

In a technicality, there’s nothing wrong with driving an LTI (Black Cab) on private insurance. It’s even technically ok to have “TAXI” on your car. It’s the act of offering your services for Hire and Reward that’s an offence.

It’s also not actually an offence to receive payment in kind. What IS absolutely (and rightly so) an offence, is to do what someone else has already posted and ASK for favours instead of cash. Sexual harassment will lose you your badge in a heartbeat!!
