Help needed from latex wearers please... I love latex but I'm not sure if I can wear anything over the top after I've shined it?

Can I pop a coat over the top to head out or will I end up with fluffy latex and a ruined coat?

Help a girl out so she doesn't freeze between the car and the club

I have found putting clothes over shined latex tends to dull the shine really quickly so if I am planning on putting clothes over it I don't bother shining it up.

If you have shined it be careful what you but over it because yes it will pick up fluff and bits from the clothing.

Also depending what you have shined it with the shine product could also stain or damage the clothing.

I think what ever you put over it will dull it, or stick to it. You may have to take your outfit with you and change at the venue. Or be out and proud as I'm sure you look gorgeous in whatever you're wearing xxx

Whatever you put over the top of the latex will dull the shine so just shine it when you get to your location.

You need chlorinated latex to stop clothes from sticking/ dragging.

Yep clothes over the top will take on some of the polish, and so you latex will be a little less shiny. Just take a lubed/polish soaked cloth in a bag with you for touching up.

Polish is clear and I have not notice any discolouration, but there will be an oily residue left on your clothes.

Be wary of slippery fingers while driving, and don't get polish on your socks unless you like ice skating in shoes Lol

Also always wash your latex after use in warm water with very mild dishsoap or hand soap with no added extras. Hang it to dry then talc it or lightly polish it to store.

Shine will always slowly go away when worn as it slides down the latex and also evaporates.

Latex in sunlight degrades unless it's been stabilised such as clorinated latex

Also metal on latex can be bad, it reacts and breaks it down to be brittle.

I'd say go unpolished with cotton jumpers or a fitting coat that is easy on the latex.

And make the polishing part some fun to do when arriving for your partner. It's a hot thing in itself to see latex getting polished

I personally don't shine until I'm at whatever venue I'm going to so I can wear a coat over the top.

I keep an older, charity shop find, longer coat that I don't mind powder from storage being on. Washes fine honestly.

Don’t shine before you go but once there and down to your latex just produce the bottle of your shine stuff and ask “ anyone like to lend a hand” you’ll be shining like a new pin in no time and not have raised a finger

Like others say, it is best to shine there.

But there is a possible solution to your dilemma. I don’t enjoy the greasy high gloss polishes, which can stay a bit tacky and smear. I have often used Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care, which is a car product. It dries pretty well, and once on and dry, doesn’t tend to smear or stick. That said, I always tended to add an extra coat when at the venue, but even that is easier as it is a non greasy milky liquid. It isn’t quite as shiny as the greasy ones, but shiny enough to look good.

Chlorinated won’t stick, but is is naturally dull, so if you want it to shine, you still have to use a shine product!
