Numb those nerves?

Alleviate the anxiety?

Assuage the angst?

Morning!

I have my first organized social in a week. Yes, yes I know I will be fine once I am there.

I'm just curious what you fine folks do (if anything) to tame the trepidation when doing something new and scary?

Embrace those feelings, learn to love them. Nervous energy can be one hell of an aphrodisiac. Hope it goes well for you denk!

I try to suppress them on the way by playing with myself as Ben drives, get him to reach over and help. Once we get inside the door it’s almost immediate action, I’m grabbing at the trousers

We’ve done meets where we sit and chat over a glass of wine for an hour before and it feels so awkward

Sounds fun! Although I forgot to add this is a group social, so I do not want to go in already pent up with a raging hard-on

Try find a specific reason(s) on why you're nervous. My first few meets the nerves were super bad ( not from fab, arranged online meets elsewhere so didnt have the verification system we do on here ) and I latched onto the idea Id come face to face with a psycho murder every time the meet was an hour away or so lol. Silly I know, but I rationalized it the best I could, meeting each other somewhere public then walking to theirs, sharing my location to a friend ect. Nerves are totally normal and get better each time in my experience

Oh I know why I am nervous. I will be walking into a room of about 80 swingers on my own, many of whom already know each other.

I suffer from anxiety doing most things. And it pretty much dissipates as soon as i start doing whatever it is I am anxious about.

Was hoping someone had the secret to settling the pre-nerves

When I'm nervous, I have a good cry in the shower (no one can see your tears in the shower!) I tell myself out loud that everything will be fine and hope the person/people I'm meeting are at least as nervous as me!
