Find it astounding that some people go to a club and have not had a bath or shower for days. Luckily we only had to walk past them but come on people...if your going to attempt to get down and dirty, then at least invest in some shower gel before you turn up

I think we have to be a little cautious around this.

There are a small, but not insignificant, group of people who have medical conditions. I have a driend who has a rare condition - he can get out the shower and he still has this unusual smell.

He’s tried everything, but it’s still an issue that’s blighted his life.

Chances are the people we encounter are just lazy when it comes to hygiene, but I know people have said that about him. That’s not good.

One of the reasons why i prefer private meets over clubs is Hygiene …. They could be playing and rubbing themselves all over the club

How do you know when they last showered or bathed?. Maybe they were just sweating more due to nerves which is quite sad. I wouldn't make assumptions about a person without knowing the facts.

Probably more than you think have medical conditions.

I have recently been introduced to menopause sweats. Absolutely fucking delightful.

Isn't it obvious to shower before any meet. Be it social or fun.

You only get one chance at a first impression.

Sorry to hear that, but a good point. I was aware that was a key symptom of the menopause, but didn’t think to include it in my rationale.

I mean, sometimes I meet people for a social straight after work and I work in sports. But I do prep for the fact I’m meeting them straight after work for a drink!

We can guess the club as last time we were there by 1am the place absolutely stank of BO. If it's where we are thinking of it does get very hot but there are good showers, towels and the lockers are plenty big enough for a can of deodorant.

This is one of my big fears! If I met someone either privately or at a club and they smelled bad that would be game over for me

Thankfully that’s never happened to me privately but in clubs I’ve smelled body odour quite heavily on some. Seems to be a minority though

Playing or not personal hygiene is a must in any situation. Thankfully I’ve yet to encounter the opposite.

Clean sweat doesn’t smell.. the smell is caused by the bacteria from old sweat

If you're up front it it then it's fair, but that involves communication, which is a trait many on here are lacking in.

I used to manage a gym.

Recent sweat does indeed smell.

I thought this would be a go without saying, but obviously not.

Whenever I’m meeting somebody I’m shower, fresh and a good aftershave on
