The difference is two. There is an argument that the difference could also be -2 but as the question does not state the starting point then I do not hold with that argument. Any other maths questions, just give me a shout.

I increase my age filters when I have a birthday. I'll be hitting the big 50 this year so I'll increase the upper age and the lower age limits.

When people hit certain milestones, they'll find they are out of some peoples age ranges automatically.

That's why so many profiles have written I'm actually x, but can't change my age. That means they've already changed it once to bypass a filter.

But it's not just a number to everyone.

Maybe that 2 years is just too far for that person ie if a woman is 28, 10 years feels OK, where 12 doesn't.

I have my upper at 57 because that's what I'm happy with. I wouldnt go to 60 just yet.

If someone wants maybe 10 years age difference they will just add on 10.

At the end of the day it’s all relative.

A 25 year old will look at someone with 40 plus as ancient. I know I did when I was their age.

At 47 I look at someone at 27 and think they are very young

As I get older I find I get very intolerate of people who dosent age ranges ! So 2 years equals lot more tolerant .

My upper age filter is just above my own age because I've never been with a woman older than me at any stage in my life so it's not likely it will happen now.

My lower filter is adjusted every year so it will always stay 10 years above my eldest child's age.

It's not negotiable.
