Hello!

Has anyone been to both Cap d'Agde and Gran Canaria?

If so, which was your favourite and why?

We've been to Cap d'Agde and had an amazing time. This year we're struggling to choose between the two destinations.

Thank You xxx

Only been to GC

Had a great time and can be treated as a "normal" holiday with no pressure to do anything, but all readily available if you you're looking

Southport

Cap will certainly cost you far more than GC. Cap is limited to the summer season too. Our opinion is, Cap is unique and a sexier vibe overall and we would choose to stay in either of the gated hotels of Eden or Babylone. The advantage of GC is year round weather although if you don't get the right months the club's can be hit and miss.

We have been to, and enjoyed, both a few times. We find them quite different. GC (PDI, Maspalomas and Meloneras) are lively family resorts, with some nude beaches and several swinging clubs for evening entertainment, plus a large gay community. Cap, on the other hand has pretty much a full on 24 hour sex vibe, with full nudity anywhere and at any time of day. If you want a normal holiday with some swinging then GC, if you want full indulgence then Cap. If you have enough money then Cap in the summer (when the sex scene in GC is quieter) and GC in the winter (when it's still warm and Cap is closed).

Two holidays would be ideal if we can negotiate the childcare

This. They're really quite different places and as stated they complement each other. So we would agree that if funds allow, the ideal would be Cap in summer and PDI in winter

Also, it depends so much on what you're after - for some ppl new to the scene Cap might be overwhelming, with no option to retreat into a more vanilla holiday

We love gc. Lots of playtime in the various clubs with literally hundreds of local guys. Sara and I would not go anywhere else anymore

We’ve been to both several times. PDI is our favourite as it’s far cheaper & more laid back as it’s also a family resort. You can dip in or out of the swinger scene & it has a middle ground for naturists as a large number of hotels have naked sun terraces. Cap we found to be way more intense with the sexuality being a lot more overt with clothing choices like S&M wear around the village in the evenings. Cap is also bloody expensive for food & drink. Basically if you want a laid back holiday that you can dip in & out of the lifestyle then it’s PDI but if you want in your face sexuality then it’s Cap. Alternatively you can do what we do & visit both

Usually between November and Easter for swinging, we have found. We have been in August, and although we had a great time the clubs were very much quieter. However swinging complexes like Mirage will still be open. We used to have fun in the dunes, but they are too hot mid summer, and in any event are now policed with fines being issued.

There really doesn't seem to be too much difference in price between the two. We eat healthy so we went to the supermarket and was eating mostly in our apartment. Wine was cheap as chips. We went to Cap last year as relative newbies and it was amazing.

If you're looking for a good holiday with a bit of swinging the summer months might suit. There are always a few (hopeful) single guys in the clubs we attended (eg 2x2), which we like, and a few couples. In terms of hotels the Servatur Don Miguel is adults only and central (but conventional not swinging) and relatively cheap because although it's 4* standard it's officially rated as 3*. At the top end we liked the Riu overlooking the dunes and Lopesan by the lighthouse, neither of which is adults only. For the full swinging experience try Mirage (or stay elsewhere and get a day pass).

Cap d'Agde

We've tried, and enjoyed both.

CdA is a bit like Glastonbury - it's very much what you make of it, and two people going at the same time can have very different experiences.

Yes, there are social, partying and clubbing opportunities pretty much full time. But you can also just use it as a base, self-catering, going for morning runs along the beach, touring the local towns, sunbathing nude, and then hitting a club in the evening, or even just enjoying what people are wearing while having an ice-cream.

PDI is amazing in the winter because it's so good to get some sun on your naked skin. Absolute peak time for UK visitors seems to be October, but all winter you will bump into a lot of Brits. May onwards there are a lot less. You can still get the full-time nude experience by staying at La Mirage or Venus, but obviously on a much smaller scale.

Where ever I lay my hat

Really helpful thread, how would you guys describe GC for a woman who hasn't been to a club here in the UK, is a bit nervous but keen to check things out. She seems keener on somewhere abroad so we are talking about potential locations

Fun in Cap starts end of May and lasts till the end of the first/second week of September. July and August are the height of the season.

No comparison,1 is a naturist/swingers mini town the other is a holiday resort with a naked section on the beech and some clubs to go to

Cap is 100% on another level

.

Gran Canaria would suit perfectly,

there are bars to meet others in before going on to clubs and

some clubs like fun4all are a bit more fun than hardcore sex clubs,

perfect for newbies like we were when we first went

We agree with this entirely, summed it all up so well. We love both but GC is cheaper and all year round sun.

I have always viewed these places as for couples and single women.

Fir a single man I doubt there is much opportunity to have fun if the scene is anything like the UK

There are plenty of opportunities for single men in GC - I have played with many in the clubs there, and in the dunes before they were patrolled. For gay men there are even more opportunities!

We like both, Cap in the summer (June/July) & PDI in the autumn (Oct/Nov).

Both very different as mentioned above but plenty of fun to be had. Already booked for 2024.

Any good adult only hotel suggestions for GC, don't think a naturist or full on place would work, but maybe somewhere a little more vanilla where some play does happen but is a bit more discreet.

It may sound a bit snobby of me, but I wouldn’t recommend Gran Canaria. I found it to be very trashy. There’s nice places here and there, but overall it’s quite boring and somewhere like PDI is pure hell on earth, may as well still be in the UK.

I don’t know about cap
