Me and my partner are keen to try out a swingers club in the new year, we’ve never been to one before. We’re not sure how we want to participate once there, be it watching, being turned on and having our fun or what we just don’t know yet.

So the question (other than chatting to folk once there obviously) is what’s the etiquettes involved? What’s the do’s and dont’s? If we are interested what do we do?

All may seem obvious to more experienced but clearly we’re not, so help needed please.

It partly depends on the club - in some you have to join in advance, some you must undress, some sell alcohol etc.

In general though, go for a night out, dress the part, check the club rules in advance.

Assuming you don't know anyone, spend time in the social areas, perhaps try a room or two on your own - you may get people asking to join you.

Main thing is, relax and enjoy yourselves.

Thankyou, so what do you where? As a guy just pants? Lady I think is a bit easier.

If we’re having some fun as a couple in a room do people approach you or do people have to be given the nod to approach?

In terms of play it is very much consent consent consent. A nod may not be enough to let someone know you want them to join in.

First things first is you both need to communicate, understand what each other want when you are there.

Best advice is to go along, chat to people, even if not interested in playing just to be sociable, take the tour of the club so you know what is where.

In terms of dress code stick to the clubs that don’t have a dress down policy then you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

As for dress code, that depends on the club - The Attic is our favourite, there's no requirement to undress there - when playing in a room, it depends on the room. Some are fully open, so others can walk in and get close, some have curtains for people to watch through, others have a type across or stable doors where you can leave the top open. In such cases, those watching sometimes ask if they can join in, or you can invite people.
