Premier Inn....security avoidance

As purveyors of threesome's, and sometimes moresomes, we've noticed that security is now being employed at Premier Inn sites making it difficult to get people into rooms for some fun, especially after certain times in the evening. Are there better times of the day that make it easier? Any experience or advise on how to make this process a little less fraught would be gratefully received..

I’m interested in this. What form did the security take….? Surely if you have the pass card you just walk up to the door, buzz it and in you go?

Is there actually a guard checking people in and out?

This could ruin a lot of people’s fun….!!

There is a security guard that asks for your room number & checks how many guests are booked in against it.

Whether this happens at all sites around the country we don't know, but it certainly happens in our neck of the woods!

Never had anyone checking room numbers or guests in premier inns all over the country. Always guaranteed to have pass card doors on foyers and floors from lifts though so usually have to accompany someone in

Day times and early evenings are easiest or simply ask for two key cards and hand one to your "extra".

Where abouts in the country roughly ?

I have stopped in hundreds of premier inns as I constantly travel with work . Usually its difficult to find any staff around later at night.

I’m guessing that premier inn makes a lot of money every weekend from guests who are on a weekend away with mates for a night out drinking. Some of those guests will pull while on the night out and if things go well will end up going back to the hotel together. Imagine how annoyed they’ll be when the premier inn security doesn’t let them in because there’s only one person booked in for the room. That will be the last time they stay at a premier inn when they’re on a weekend away so it doesn’t really sound like a very good business plan and will probably loose them a lot of customers in the future.

If they have got security on the door then just book the room for as many people as the room will fit, or book 2 rooms but all stay in one of them, stop staying at premier inns..,,

The reasoning of course will be safety. If there is an unknown number of guests in the rooms and there’s a fire (for example) the hotel has a duty to account for all guests. The answer is that non resident guests be allowed to “sign in” but that’s hassle for the hotel so they just use security as a deterrent

Why doesn’t every hotel count the guests in and out then? Why is premier inn apparently so much more concerned about safety than other hotels because I’ve stayed at lots of hotels and have never known any of them to count the guests in and out. It would be too costly, too inconvenient and probably put people off staying there again in the future.

Hotels do need to have a record of who’s staying there at any time in case there’s some sort of emergency but they don’t need to know which guests are in the building at any one time and which aren’t.

I'm surprised as I've not had any issues. Your local must be extra strict or put you on a blacklist.

In one that I use, I made friends with reception and told them about having multiple 'visitors'. They were amused, said no problems and let the guests in without me having to go down.

Or avoid Premier Inn / Travelodge and find more discreet hotels. In my favourite, you can go straight to the room without passing reception. I also like Holiday Inn, they're large with lots of foot traffic and nobody pays you any attention.

I stay in premier inn 2 or 3 nights a week for work. Despite booking as a single person they always ask how many room cards I want.

When there on an evening I have never seen any “security guards” just the night staff who very seldom are not sat at the main desk but in a room behind it.

I have used about 20 different premier inns in various locations and never had any issues

The Premier Inn in Swansea does this too. The hotel is right in the middle of all the pubs and clubs.

It's nothing to do with any blacklist, it's about the location of the hotel. I'm sure in the past they've had d*unks trying to blag their way into other people's rooms.

I wonder what would happen if you just said, "Don't worry, he's only coming up for a couple of hours. We're having a threesome."

Best thing to do check in, ask for two sets of cards, explain it as you always misplace one etc.

I was invited into a popular hotel in the centre of Leeds by some fabs folks last year - after midnight. Not Prem Inn, but another well known chain.

The hotel did employ security on the external door.... I just said my wife arrived much earlier and went to bed and won't come down to meet me.

I gave the full name of the husband and the room number, which the security staff checked.

Then they let me into the hotel and even called the lift for me.

Naturally I left after breakfast started!

The tip here is confidence. Hotels don't count folks going in and out of the building.

Hotels are not moral police. They don’t care if the person you’re shagging is your partner, or even if you don’t even know their name. All they care about is payment, their reputation, the hotel facilities, and the other guests, generally in that order. So if you simply book for the number of people you’re hosting, there should never be any trouble, even if people arrive separately.

This sounds very location-specific.

On a weekend night in a city known for partying, they’re likely to get big groups try and share a room just to have somewhere to sleep, or if it is near a big sports or concert venue.

I travel a lot for work and have never seen security checking cards or asking questions. And that’s everything from Premier Inn to 5* luxury hotels.

My biggest issue is when you need a keycard to access a hallway or a lift (or even to get into the building at night) as that makes meet ups slightly more challenging and less discreet. .

Ib know this may not be helpful but depending on the site and country and c reverb city will depend if premier room has full time or contracts security.

couple, us we him her.

I would say that the hotel is well within their rights to stop people abusing the system if people are staying over.

Most hotels that we've been in don't have rules about guests visiting your room just not staying over.

I would think this is also to do with fire regulations as much as anything.

I've been to Archway and the 'Hub' just off Goodge Street in London and neither had any security in the evening/night. Just one member of staff in reception glued to their phone who you had to pretty much wake up if you wanted anything.

We’ve had ‘guest’ over in Travelodge rooms with no issues. We even got a smile off their reception staff when four of us walked in.

Some rather low-end hotels which are now housing immigrants are having quite tight security. The Britannia in Manchester, which used to be a cheap and cheerful shagging hole for the LGBT community, has now been partly used for immigrants and as a consequence the security is tighter than a rat’s arse. Checked on door and desk, only the booked person can get in, guests are all turned away.

"I’m interested in this.

"

I've never known that to happen, I was in a premier inn near Silverstone a few weeks ago, no one checked me when I came back to my room at around 11pm

This only happens in certain places where there is a known problem of other sorts and some citie locations. It is not general accross the whole of Premier Inns. Generally swipe card access - meet in a pub and then head back to room.

When we stayed at one in Leeds, we arranged with a guy on here to come to our room. He text us when he was in the car park, it was about 2am. We threw the key card down from the third floor, he grabbed it and came straight up.

I can’t see how they’d stop somebody who has a card and can scan themselves in.

To get around this issue may take some sacrifice on your part.

1. When you check in always check in alone. If the room is a double then just make any old nonsense up., wifes on the phone, or fella is parking the car. You get my drift.

2. Always ask for 2 keys. If your a couple you can even ask for 3 as one key card is to switch your room on. So to speak.

3.security guards around the uk work 12 hour shifts so its very unlikely they will appear before 6pm at the absolute earliest.

4. This is maybe where the sacrifice comes in. Prior to that time you arrange to meet your liaison or liaisons. This is where you give the other party/s the other key card.

5.whoever checked in takes that person or persons to the room. If the female checked in then she takes the male and the partners enjoy a drink. After several minutes they return.

6. This serves two purposes. To see if there is security there and secondly to show face. This is where it gets sneaky. So if you then come into reception late evening you do exactly as before.

7. The security guard will want a room number the number of guests and to see your key card. He only counts the key card.

8. Now the husband and partner walk in again he will ask for the name the room is booked under the room number and expect to see a key. He has now accounted for all keys to said room. Thats assuming he even gives a fuck.

9. The only thing that will fuck you at this point is if your key card doesn't open the door to the corridor.

10. You arrive at your room and your wife opens the door to great you .

Last time we stayed in a PI, o/h went back while I popped to a shop.

She couldn't find her card, went to reception, gave a name/etc and they did her a new card on the spot.

Either that or if you're techy then it takes 30 minutes to crack a card and 3 seconds a pop to make copies...

How big are the moresomes?! Is it a city centre one - must admit haven’t seen this on any of the ones I’ve been to, even brighton centre but perhaps there’s a party central in MK?!

Just around the corner

Ive never seen anything that strict although you usually need to be with a resident to access the rooms (which seems reasonable). Maybe big groups or sub-letting are a problem in your neck of the woods?

I know its not a PI, but i had to go through security at a hilton in Manchester - had to tell them my room number and then as I'd moved past them to access the lifts also had to give my surname too - was just me, so i think its becoming more standardised.
