If you research spanking there are air of theories out there.

One is dopamine release from the pain being similar to that released when experiencing sexual arousal. Not sure I buy into that one much.

The theory I favour is that spanking in the bottom activates nerve endings that also cause sexual arousal. And the spanking can bring that arousal quicker.

In the kink world it is fine to state what you like, but not to criticise other (legal) kinks.

Non- consensual impact if any level is not kink, it is criminal assault no matter how light the touch.

I have to give the usual disclaimer that this is my view and others may have a different view.

Kink/ BDSM is and should be controlled by two factors. The first is genuine, freely given, informed enthusiastic consent. The second is the law (look up Spanners case.) Between those two there is only sensation people want to receive matched with a person willing to give it.

Words like "violence" have a moral overtone to them.

As I and others have discussed in other threads, impact and sensation play has a bad press due to a lack of education of people calling themselves "Dominants". They have no clue how to negotiate,or discuss the scene/ relationship, hard and soft limits (aftercare) to achieve relevant consent. They have no idea of how to use toys or how to use them safely on a body.

I wonder how many people on this thread have played with impact and sensation without getting educated. I mean attend workshops,listen to podcasts, YouTube or read a books on the subjects.

The education also applies to the sub or bottoms, to learn to negotiate and interview potential play partners and be willing to take their time. To understand all the relevant safety requirements, and how their body responds.

It is my view some of the safest players in the scene play at the deep end of the pool, but they respect consent, understand safety, but also want it to be enjoyable.

At the end of the day it is all about treating people the way they genuinely want to be treated in terms of kinky fun and not imposing play or subjective value judgements.
