When participating in a forum discussion & profile pic catches your eye, so you open thier page then return to the convo thread, but you really want to pass on a compliment to them about the profile photo.

Not meant in a "let's hook up ?" way, more in a '" BTW great photo" way.

Would this come across as creepy or annoying or simply a token of appreciation.

Please let me know because I'm wanting to do it in the acceptable way soon

X

I’ve done it lots of times. It’s always nice to receive and give a compliment.

If a compliment was due then I'd give one but normally just a fab of their photo is enough, they know you've looked and if they want to check you put then they can

I often do it - but I would say don't expect a reply and everyone reacts differently

It's nice to be appreciated, but not so nice when your, 'Shucks, thanks, I try my best,' is replied to by 'So when can we fuck?'

In the normal world people would be most appreciative of a well meant compliment I’m sure!

However on here it’s deemed acceptable to read the compliment, take a look at the senders profile and instead of politely thanking them if you don’t like the look of them BLOCK them ‘in case’ they have the audacity to message

I’ve done it a few times and it’s generally well received. Has even led to further conversations etc.

Person A: "Aww, thanks for taking the time to say so, I appreciate it."

Person B: "Just because I said something in the forum, doesn't mean I want creepy messages from every guy on here."

For every Person A, there'll be a Person B.

I occasionally compliment people, usually women.

If you're not sure just fab the picture

Bearing on mind that in Fab some people get extraordinary volumes of messages, what would you expect the impact to be upon them? and their likely reaction to your action?

I guess giving a compliment or messaging is unrelated to the Forum. The compliment receiving profile does not know whether you saw the profile in a Forum or not, so it is likely to be treated as any other message in the inbox.
