"Yes it is true but.......I would strongly recommend you don't attempt doing them yourself unless you have a good understanding of the braking system. There are springs under tension and the handbrake cable to consider. Plus if you don't get it back together properly, you're potentially looking at brake failure " Thankyou. However, my elderly father has recently taken his 03 plate Fiesta into his local garage for the near side rear brake shoes to be replaced. (70,000 miles on the clock) The garage have advised him that despite utilising a "slide puller", they are unable to remove the brake drum. They recommend that they spend £200 worth of labour to "cut the brake drum off" and they suggest that "over time the wheel bearing has become welded onto the brake drum". | |||
