We bought one of the cheaper LoveHoney starter kits which included a couple of plugs and some beads. It's good to start smaller and not dive straight in with a larger one which might not be pleasant or even cause damage. You can the figure out what size works and then take it from there

Definitely worth gradually increasing for sure. You may not want a whole load but its much better to work up as opposed to trying to make a larger one work when it may not
