How far have you traveled?

How far have you travelled to meet someone you’ve connected with on fab?

And did/has it placed any pressure on your meet?

We often get offers from further afield and just wondered what others experiences have been with this? Good or bad.

From South Yorkshire to London, to Nottingham, to Birmingham, to Manchester...

We’ve travelled to the other side of the country - sideways 4 hours drive.

No extra pressure at all - as we’ve chatted enough to know we’d get on as friends anyway.

As for how this shapes the meet, well... It it more that it shapes my expectations of a local meet. Because I'm not travelling that far unless we have closely aligned complementary interests, and unless we aae both committed to giving each other a

fabulous session, it makes offers of no frills local meets seem a little... drab.

That’s a great point.

The longest distance for me was 2 trains and a ferry trip but was a cpl who I had been chatting with for a long time. It was amazing fun and the travel made it more of an adventure I’d say but all in all about 350miles

Not on fab, but used to do a six hour round trip to see one lady, and also had a couple of two or three hour round trips. No problem in my younger freeer days!

I wouldn't travel more than 30 minutes to someone I hadn't met before. I've met people further than that but I was in the area for other reasons.

On a different website I travelled from Manchester to Cambridgeshire for a meet but had chatted and cammed a few times before meeting in person. On fab I have met while away on business in Hertfordshire but haven’t travelled purely for the meet in those instances.

One of the ways I see it is; how far would I/have I travelled to watch sport, go to a concert etc. Are any of them as much fun as a really good sex session?

I once sailed for 5 days to meet a woman in the outer hebrides

I also once travelled 750 km from croatia to southern germany to meet an old girlfriend, and mind you, back then I didn't have a car and hitchhiked the whole way.

Fun trips, and honestly: I just look for an excuse to make distance anyway

I've driven 3½ hours for a meet but would never do it again.

The usual thought process is that someone making that effort has certain expectations on arrival such as I've come this far so I'm expecting at least a BJ.

My thought process though is the opposite based on that experience.

The expectation was on her side because as she said I had driven that distance once so there was nothing stopping me from doing it again on a regular basis.

There were lots of other reasons I stopped seeing her but all involved a certain amount of drama.

There was zero give and take. It was all take on her part.

Ever since I won't travel more than an hour and anyone outside that range will have to meet me halfway.

Through a clerical error into deepest darkest Lincolnshire.

It was a good meet, but if I'd realised how far it was, I'd have taken a packed lunch

Stoke area

I drove from Stoke to Stansted and then got a plane to Italy. This was to meet a guy I'd met once before.

I've also driven long distances to meet forumites, but it's often arranged as part of holiday in their area.

Most meets I'd not drive for more than half an hour.

Just curious: Did you pay for that plane yourself or was it part of hte invite?

I honestly can say this is not really a thing for me. No extra pressure and plus i like travelling and seeing new things. (as in sites )

But I have done a trip to Paris before, and it was great

London

Think London-Bristol was probably the furthest so far, but to be honest, I'd be happy to go up north etc. Meets should be about quality not quantity - if I've got a real attraction with a couple on here, I'd be happy to make the effort. Better traveling 5 hours for one really great night than staying local and having 3 mediocre ones...

As for the pressure aspect, absolutely not. I'd just treat it as a weekend away - book a nice hotel, have lunch somewhere nice, check a gallery etc. Then even if nothing happens you've had a nice time away. The sex should just be an added bonus.

We're Derby and we have travelled to Birmingham.

To be honest it doesn't hinder us as we like the travelling and night away in a hotel regardless if they cancelled.

We actually prefer travelling further afield.

We’ve been about 25 miles, but prefer to accommodate, most stay over the night anyway, and chill out for the day.

Probably hour and half at most. Had few potential opportunities closer to Birmingham but just felt it was too far and long a trip.

We usually have to travel. Not much happening in our quiet area. Plus we prefer the freedom of misbehaving far from home. Less of a likelihood of bumping into a work colleague in a bar when my wife has her micro mini over her waist and some guys fingering her. lol

We chat heaps with people and usually have a plan B in place just in case. Often we will arrange first meets in clubs.

So how far do we travel? 10 hours plus is not uncommon.
