Why?

Little bit of a pet fab hate.

When someone asks if you want to meet and you politely decline with a no and they continue to message asking why. Further emphasising why it was a no.

Does anyone else have this pet peeve?

Or are you a why kinda girl/guy?

This might be the way forward.

It's best to not reply in the first place as many don't take kindly to rejection. What's happened to you doesn't happen to us as we simply don't reply if not interested.

Wherever

The best is not to reply and delete the message.

It’s covered in website FAQs so no reply is a reply in itself.

If it’s a “not for us” and they message back asking why, we tell them why, in a very honest way.

Normally results in us being blocked !

It does make you tempted to reply with:

It's a no thanks and no further correspondence will be entered into

I’ve answered some whys? in a very direct manner. Honesty is important and feedback is the food of champions.

I reply and say if they can't take "no" for an answer they are disrespectful and can't be trusted - definitely not anyone I would feel safe meeting.

Unfortunately not. When i re-message to inquire if they are ok I'm blocked.

I just block and move on this doesn't always work because later they change their mind then you need to hunt through the block list to find them and need to unblock others to accomplish this

I do the same. Maybe if they are the opposite to what you seek then they read profiles in the future.
