"Always inquisitive to why this happens"

I've wondered the same for years. But i think some do it if you're from the same area as them . They just want to be really discrete so they don't take any chances. I might be wrong though. And I think some people do it because they might recognise you and don't want you to see their profile lol. Who knows

Yes have done it for discretion with very locals via phone app and when someone I’m really not into keeps viewing my profile to stop them obsessing

I block for a number of reasons:

I don't like their status updates or pics ie they rant about others or have drug references.

I've seen them be unsavoury on the forums, more than once.

They have profiles full of pics of different women and they're a single male & I can see only their hand or cock.

I also block anyone I think I may know in real life, just in case.

If I get a message from someone, and I don't reply because I'm not interested, and then I get another message I block them.

so that I don't get another, and another, and another, and some abuse thrown in for good measure,

I also block people that live within a 5 mile radius of me.....

Coz I live in a very small village where gossip travels faster than wildfire, and I don't want judgy looks from the vicars wife or members of the PTA when I'm doing the school run.

Everyone's answer to this question will be different I imagine, wvwryone has Thier reasons and logic for why they do things

Most reasons have been stated already.

In essence though I use it to filter the profiles that are of no interest to me. And never will be.

There's no point having to scroll past them each time I'm on. Or have said people look at my profile that are definitive no's to me.

Saves time and effort.

Hello

I block if I come across a profile via contact, friends request, wink etc and we have nothing remotely in common. It saves us time possibly getting more contacts from them and when we click on their profile, its blocked, ie means we need not wate any more of our time

A few times i have blocked where someone has made crass comments on a thread or having a dig at us or another memeber for no reason

We block for;

Don’t match our requirements.

Regular unpleasant or inflammatory forum posts.

Very vocal bareback advocates.

Smokers.

Repeat unwanted messages or winks.

The block system is a useful filter tool. Use it as intended.

I have my saved search settings which I regularly use to find potential meets. But when I do the search, I regularly come across profiles of people who I believe will never meet me or who I would never meet.

A profile looking for bareback meets, I would never meet them.

A profile says they have preference for white or black men only. They would never meet me because I am Asian.

Blocking them is the only way to remove them from my search results so that I can look at only the profiles of people who I may meet.

If the convo is like one badly formed sentence that is just about fucking or a dick pick they are blocked.

Misgendering is also an autoblock.

Blocking local profiles that are clearly not going to ever be a meet is a good time saver.

I block people whose profiles are clearly not compatible with mine, it gets them out of the local updates. Anyone with a “just our preference” or no bi men. Quite often I’ll block a profile that’s really badly written, but it has to be really bad. The “Facebook is publicly traded” nonsense pushes me close to a block, that and some other rubbish will make it fairly clear we are not going to get on and a block just stops me going through that loop again.

I’ve blocked profiles that are really attractive but have a block on my age range, it just saves time.

We tend to block most folk outside of our preferences, age etc.

Also those who come across as self important, disrespectful, ill mannered or can't take no for an answer.

Oh and of course, those who are dillusional and there are plenty of them....

Just saves all the hassle.

Generally don't block that much but usually it is:

Multiple, daily (sometimes hourly) updates and we get bored of seeing them

Found things they've said on the forum offensive/derogatory/not in line with our thoughts

Repeated messages that aren't wanted

Passive aggressiveness mostly (unless it’s to an abusive or harassing account). They want you to know they don’t like you for some reason and this is the only way they feel brave enough to do it (very doubtful they’d say anything to your face).

Loads of reasons! The main ones are they are local to us and post lots of pics we’re not interested in, so it stops them appearing in our feed…also if they post stuff on the forum that displays they have bigoted attitudes.

I don't understand how it is pa? I've no idea who our profile is blocked by and if I did stumble across someone who had, I wouldn't think much of it nor would I expect someone to send a message just to say they don't like us so are blocking.

Passive aggressive?

I mean, I also don't spend my whole evening on a night out telling the people I'm not attracted to that I'm not attracted to them. While actively telling each one would probably count as actively aggressive, there's no aggression in just cracking on with the people that are viable company and leaving the rest to do their own thing away from me.

I instantly block because of 3 reasons 1 if the guy I bi or bi curious 2 if they are looking for tvs and 3 if they smoke ..why would a guy message someone when thier profile clearly says no smoking guys only and totally straight only .it shows they haven't bothered to read a profile properly .it just saves on time .I do however politely message ..sorry I never meet smokers or I only meet totally straight guys then I block

36 on my block list and never spoken directly to any of them.

They are blocked because of inane status updates and we have nothing in common and I prefer a tidy and relevant update page.

Some are blocked due to their forum behaviour and one is blocked for making snide forum comments based on my profile details.

Here and There

I use the block button a lot. Some reasons are;

Ignoring what my profile says I’m looking for (it’s normally very specific)

Bursting into my inbox with a dick pic/dick avatar

Local updates with statuses/pics I don’t want to see

Repeat messaging when I’ve ignored the first time

Invading my inbox referencing something I’ve posted in the forum, trying to generate a sexual connection

If I’ve met you in real life or seen anything on here that makes me think you’re horrible
