Main play area etiquette

We haven’t played on the main bed all that often as we have monopolised an area set aside from the centre of the room.

When we first visited a club which is local to us we were advised by the owner that there is a possibility of encountering wondering hands which is the norm therefore it was better to find an alternative area as others would know we are wanting our space.

When everyone including ourselves are mid play it doesn’t sit right asking direct for fear of interrupting. Our way of inviting others is through a subtle nod if eye contact is made.

Do other couples find that acceptable?

We had an occasion where we played on the main bed alone until a couple joined us right next to where we were lay even though there was plentiful space. Neither of us said anything and played with our own partners. It was afterwards as they were leaving they bid us a friendly good night. They seemed really friendly, looking back we feel there was a possibility of things progressing but neither couple made a move. It was a darkened room also on that occasion.

We totally get the reluctance of asking directly. This can be difficult anyway in open play areas, because the music can sometimes be too loud (funny story about that later). In a darkened open play area, eye contact can be difficult too. We prefer a gentle hand placement on a non-sexual area, such as arm or leg. If we're not interested in the attention, we'll make it known, in a civilised manner which doesn't make the other person feel awkward.

***Funny Story***

Whilst at a club a few months ago, the music was quite loud. Sally was wearing her lingerie, but we were just about to leave as we couldn't stay until the end. The male from a couple we had been chatting with, said he really liked Sally and asked whether they could stay in touch. To which Sally thanked him and said "Of course"... Sally was a little surprised when he then reached over and caressed her boobs. He had actually asked "Can I touch?" The music being loud caused Sally to mishear him.

We and his female partner found it funny. Unfortunately the hubby had far more of an issue with it than us. He repeatedly apologised. Despite our reassurance that it wasn't a problem.
