The great condom debate

After reading a few threads on here recently we are surprised at how many people let the other person suply the condoms.

With us mrs scoobs does not use any form of birth controle as we do not need to due to me having luekemea and being sterile, so we supply the condoms so we know that they have not been tampered with.

Now going off why people use a condom in the first place, safe sex, no pregnancy, no sti etc we are surprised not more people supply them for the other single guy or couple to use.

How many people do you hear that they knowingly have a sti or worse and still have sex with people knowing and could easily tamper with a condom without you knowing.

Alot of sti are passed through seamen so a pricked condom to allow the sperm through could be hazzerdous.

So is it not wise for yourself to supply them?

We always ask the other people/ person what sort they prefere to use in case they are illergic to a certain type or what ever but WE always supply them.

Just wondered what others think and the reasons for the people the are meeting to supply the condoms??

I'm not paranoid enough to think that men out there would tamper with a condom knowing they had a STI, and I have the coil anyway so good luck to them getting me preggers. However I always make sure I have some as I don't think its someone else's responsibility to look after my sexual health. Also, if they 'forget' them its always good to whip one out.

I always have my own too. Hubby and I don't use any form of contraceptive either so I take responsibility for my own sexual health. That way I know I can't get pregnant

I always supply my own condoms as I would never turn up to a meet or club without MY own protection and also protection that I know hasn't been tampered with. Because it would be just as easy for the other party to tamper with their condoms for their own reasons wouldn't it? Who says you are any more trustworthy than the people you are meeting?

I always have condoms with me, but I wish guys with particular requirements (i.e. extra large or slimlne) would supply their own.

Not being able to fit into the condoms I bring along is not a valid reason to go bareback!

I'm with Wyrd on this one...I always have plenty of condoms, but don't mind whether we use mine or my meets...could be a problem if I insisted on using mine and met someone who insisted on using their own - would have to have at least 2 shags to alternate them maybe

I use the femidom for allergy reasons as above to I supply my own.

We supply our own as I've been known to react to some brands. I have had a few guys try not to use them in clubs but that's a no go. I order them in bulk online and just got 144 for £9.99 so it was cheaper than supermarket too. No excuses here for not sharing them

Due to a rubber latex allergy we always supply our own condoms!

That way we know they are safe and they won't leave me with a irritated foo foo

I suppose there might be people out there who may tamper with them. by that logic so could the other party. so what's the answer? double bagging? there has to be an element of trust

We always ask the guys to get latex free as I'm allergic...but they don't always get it right, so after a meet when I ended up in agony cos he'd used the wrong ones, I make sure I've always got some latex free to...ermmmm...hand?!

I have a supply of brands and sizes that I keep close to my bed and will always take a couple to meets with me. If a meet turns up with their own then I'm happy to use them. I'm not hung up on who should supply them just so long as they're worn!

As for tampering...not saying it doesn't happen, but I would imagine it's very rare. Can't see what the point would be if you're not going to see the outcome of the tampering?

It was just a question we asked after reading a few threads on here nothing more.

Just for the record we have never been questioned on who should supply them we just ask if they have a preference and buy what ever they say or what ever we think if they do not say.

No comment....not into cans of worms........Google oral contraction, or isoralsexsafe....totally bemused by the lack of knowledge and blatant disregard for health in this scene! Condoms are FALLIBLE, birth controls and they failed often on their purpose.

Forgive my naïveté, but what kind of tampering are we talking about? And would you not normally see them opening the packet? I'd be a little worried if someone took an opened condom out of their pocket.

I take a kit bag with me to all my meets, lube, condoms, intimate wipes, I like to be prepared, just incase the other person isn't

Even if you two do not need any birth control with each other its a sensible idea to have a back up of the pill, coil, implant etc. Condoms are not 100% reliable, and an unwanted pregnancy especially through a meet is obviously very traumatic. There have been several cases where this has happened.

I have not heard of a single case of deliberate condom-tampering, however as you say provide them for peace of mind.

We do take condoms with us to meets but I would expect a guy to have thought of his own protection and bring with him the necessary tools for the job. I don't have a latex allergy but if I did then obviously we would always supply them and explain this in messages beforehand.

As to the tampering issue, ok yeah maybe in a rare instance, but I'm not that paranoid about that happening. If I was I wouldn't swing whatsoever. I see guys open condoms and put them on.

We always carry some (inc some varying sizes). I do find that men usually have their own (fair enough - if you have a brand you're comfortable with then that's fine with me unless its Mates, as they irritate me) but I like to have a back up in case they don't :D

If you let a guy supply the condom its far more likely to fit. The last thin you want is you providing one that comes off inside of you but if you are that worried why not make him wear yours and his for double the coverage.

It would be discourteous to do otherwise!

Also happy to use those provided by a meet if they prefer and also to see if they are a better choice for me, but I do think it is sensible to see it in it's original wrapper.

Why would someone put a pin through a condom?

I think that's being overly paranoid tbh. If you're that worried about the men you meet how do you ever relax enough to enjoy it? I understand someone "forgetting" to bring any if they are a fan of bareback. But I'm sure the amount of men out there just waiting to try and deliberately infect someone, or try and get them pregnant is tiny. And the chance of you actually meeting one of those men is even tinier (tinyer?).

Besides, as far as I was aware if you put a hole in a condom it would most likely rip when you put it on.

I couldn't agree more if they are going to tamper with their own condom then they could just as easily tamper with yours you have to have some trust.

All this conspiracy theory seems to be making some paranoid on this thread. If you are that concerned the best option is to not swing at all.

Wearing 2 condoms is more likely to cause a split. That's like, condom lesson number 1.

We are no paroniod in anyways shape or form its just something the wife and me talked about after seeing a few threads where people let others supply the condom and was just asking for reasons why.

All the guys on here have answered that as like said, fit and what they regularly use would probably be better for them.

We have never had a problem with guys doing anything with a condom other than them putting it on their cock and fucking the wife so all ok there.

Like said we always ask what sort they use and we get them, all the guys we have met and couples have not really said anything about bringing their own so it has surprised me how many guy do bring them along to a meet.

A club we have always thought of different as who is to say who has what condoms as not alot gets talked about before hand if you know what I mean.

Thanks people for all the info that is why I started the thread, just to ask the question.

oh what i was thinking of about tampering was a guy/woman putting a pin through the condom and the packet, so when people say we watch the guy opening it you would not really know if it had not been tampered with so to speak.

But why would any guy want to? The other way round I can imagine happening, I've heard of cases where women have deliberately got themselves pregnant with the contents of used condoms! But, I can't see any reason why a man would want to tamper with a condom.

Let's face it anything could go wrong at a meet and walking into a house or a hotel room with a stranger could potentially be disastrous. Someone could put a gun to your head, or pull a knife, or throw acid in your face.

If we all worried about dangerous things that could happen then we wouldn't go out of the house.

I wouldn't imagine there would be many men wanting to put holes in condoms. What would that purpose be.

We do bring condoms but the guys we've met have always had their own supply which suit them. It seems that to think about possible bad scenarios of pinpricking condoms is putting a negative perspective on swinging and if I felt this way, that all guys were trying to harm me, then I wouldn't swing

I understand where your coming from but not everyone can suply the condoms, one side had to trust the other that their condoms are ok surely?

Yep, I'd never think of turning up to meet someone with out any, but like you most guys I met use there own.

I do have a certain level of trust with people I meet and if I thought for a second that someone might tamper with condoms then I'd just not meet them!

And what if the person you are meeting has the same views as you?..ie; they may think that YOU are tampering with condoms, maybe to get pregnant as your male half is sterile?...look at both sides of the coin.

personally i think the OP being a little paranoid, they have more chance of a condoms coming off inside the female than the person they meet tampering with them i would have thought

And even if you supply your own whats to stop him tearing a hole in it during the act? If you start getting that paranoid surely that way only lies in madness????

Always use my own as CSA would have my arse at a few grand a year for 16 years if it went wrong. Trusts gotta go both ways though.
