When do you put your heating on?

My house has been dropping to 15°C in the mornings, so I think it's about time it goes on now.

Do you wait for your house to go below a certain temperature, or do you have a date in your head that you won't put it on before?

I put mine on the other day to dry clothes but it's not going on yet, if I can add a layer to stay warm it doesn't need to go on is how I see it.

My heating’s on throughout the year more or less. I like comfort and not having to throw on an extra top, socks or hoodie, even if it costs a bomb. Last winter was quite hard with the costs but I’ve noticed my tariffs much better this year, so all good!

Been on a couple of weeks at I had a cold.

I very rarely put it on, usually only to help with drying off clothes.

My dog can't cope with it on either ha. I tend to use a blanket or another jumper, if it's bitter I might take the chill off for 20 minutes but that's it.

I used set my heating to 23°c and walk around the house in shorts. Last year because everything went crazy with the prices, I set it down to 18/19°c for a few hours in the evening and wrapped up a bit more.

Defo not enjoying these baltic mornings and being bollock naked in the bathroom, so I think I've been defeated, and have to turn it back on now...

Our place is all underfloor heating. Each room has its own control.

It’s easy enough for us to turn down the rooms we’re not using.

It’s stays warm though and the heating is only on for a short period in the morning and afternoon.

I figure that if the boiler needs to be on to heat the water, it can give some heat as well..

I think we've only had our heating on twice in the last 2 years We are lucky in that our flat has 2 below and 2 above, not to mention really good solar gain through the windows for most of the day. We run it occasionally just to give the system a "pull through".

At the moment we haven't put any heating on...the house is warm enough for just a blanket.The bedroom is too warm to be fair.17 degrees most nights now.It was 37 in the summer

I have run the heating for 30mintues this morning just to test and not find any nasty surprises when we actually need it. First time using it since moving . But considering I am still wearing shorts to work in the very early mornings and late at night definitely not cold enough yet.

Off last week, then as the boiler is a year old the manufacturer came to service it last Friday .. been "on" ever since but only really heated the house twice but only in the morning program, evening program never switched it on. Boiler has save be loads of cash, been paying more for standing charge than gas these days...

The heating has been on for a few weeks now, thermostat is set at 17.5c and cuts in and out as needed.

I find it cheaper to have heating on 24/7 and set the thermostat rather than putting the heating on in the morning and again in the evening.

Mine is set at 18 for daytime and 17 at night. So it comes on when it needs to. X

set at 19 on thermoset the colder you let you house go the more expensive it will cost to get it back to a sready level the trick is when the last of the warm weather goes try and maintain the same level ... im going cold for no one but im lucky i have a very good and very well paid job ...alot dont
