My good deed for the day… *some details changed to protect the innocent*

I’ve been chatting to a couple on here, the conversation then moved off-site to another platform for a group chat.

After a couple of days of radio silence from them, the husband messaged me privately to say that they’d had a chat and the wife had said ‘thanks but no thanks’ to meeting. No worries, says me, and wish them both well.

The wife messages me separately the next day saying that husband had vetoed the meet but, if I promised discretion, she’d like to meet me solo.

Sensing trouble ahead, I politely decline.

I know I did the right thing and I have no intention of ever telling the husband about this. I think I’m owed a ‘basic human decency’ medal

What would you do in this situation?

Have been in the same situation myself and also politely declined.

Out of interest. Are they a verified couple ? Is there even a chance that it's a guy fantasist using two numbers ? Because we've experienced that before too.

Hard to tell. Verified but, on closer inspection, the verifications look shaky.

Like I said… some details changed to protect identities.

Like what your account and picture? Surely if they saw your thread they wouldn't exactly need to be detectives to figure it out.

It's a tough one isn't it.

Whatever way I'm sure you've saved yourself some grief.

Well sure won't take them long to work out from this thread... But that aside... Yes... A OBE or possibly next voucher for you. In the fantasy land where i was in a similar situation I would have done the same thing....minus the thread.

You should definitely get a basic human decency badge - it's one of those situations where it's nice to read people doing the erm "right" thing. I like when people don't think with their genitals; gives me a bit of hope for the future, you know?
