In my experience, a regular douching is enough to clean out the lower area of the anus, but that can still leave plenty of excrement further up behind what seems to be a 'second' sphincter, which can be released and become very messy during deep energetic anal sex. The best way to clean out this area I find is by starting with a regular douching, then warm up with a toy - that way if theres any mess left over it won't cause any embarrassment, and you can simply douche again to further clean up - once you can use the toy energetically without any additional mess, then you'll be ready to play with your partner.

Yes its a bit more effort than the porn flicks would have a person believe but if you want deep, clean and comfortable anal sex then you have to put in a little prep time.

I am sure you (OP) has found all the above quite useful. Just thought i might add the need to visit the loo for an EXTENDED number 2 prior to using a douch and/or intercourse. However though, in my experience, all the health risks mentioned become redundant if we're talking about playing with a regular trusted partner, specially ATM. Happy swinging!

Good preparation - cleaned/douched - and a relaxed atmosphere will all help ....but to be safe a condom wont go a miss if not sure...better safe than sorry
