Can anyone suggest any films with a bdsm theme/scenes that we can watch together? Not actual porn as that doesnt do anything for her, but something with an actual story etc. Thanks

There was a mainstream feature film that was released in the late 90s that focussed on the fetish scene, which had crossed over into mainstream dance culture at the time. It was a black comedy and had reasonably high production values. It is called Preaching to the Perverted.

Another art house classic from the 70s is Maitresse. It features a young Gerard Depardieu and has a couple of quite heavy scenes but is ultimately a story about destructive love.

A classic from the 60s which has some bdsm themes is Belle de Jour featuring the beautiful Catherine Deneuve.

A modern film based on clear power dynamic themes is Secretary featuring Maggie Gyllenhaal.

In the ‘Realm of the senses’ (1976) is interesting and really pushes boundaries for it’s time.

And of course ‘Eyes wide shut’ not really BDSM but very structured kink. Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise and directed by stanley Kubrick.
